I saw alot of improvement against Depaul. With all the critiques from Boneyarders it looks like Geno was listening. Alot of improvement in shot selection and playing to our strengths. Another point regarding the loss to Ark. Geno substituted and played alot of the freshman and it seems they earned his trust. Theyre seeing more time because they earned it with their play against Ark. Offensively we looked great against Ark and Depaul. Alot of foul trouble against Ark and very little against Depaul. I will repeat myself. You cant play defense when your in foul trouble and when you have just about the entire starting 5 in foul trouble thats a problem and we only lost by a basket. Call it what you want. So now we have ST Johns Marquette a pretty good team and then SC. I do expect to see the coaching staff try to get one more top team before the end of February.

I like what I saw against Depaul. We looked crisp and played with confidence. We coming along fairly well. We do need a little work in some areas but the offense is clicking when we play to are strengths. Much like some of you I watched alot of games this weekend. I really dont think there is a team better then UConn or a team on a normal nite who can beat UConn. If we stay healthy and out of foul trouble we have a better then good chance to win it all.

So the development continues for the next 2 games then we have SC. SC is not the team they have been. Boston is dominate but their offense imo does not flow and they are not a really good outside shooting team. Liv needs to stay under the basket in this game. Everybody else just pack it in a little more then normal. We should win that game by double digits.

We've come along way and we still have a long way to go to be where we all know and expect UConn teams to be. Edwards Nika Griff and Mir bring the grit and fight to this team. They get the excitement going when their in there but none more then Paige. Excitement breed confidence and with confidence alot of good things happen. Are you still listening Geno?????????????? LOL

Totally agree SC is not a really good outside shooting team
we shall win on this 60% - 40%
and one more point we should take care is their senior henderson real fast to push
so must aware if not will cost us a lot of foul
but good new is she shoot bad

The field is wide open this year. I believe we have reached parity in WCBB. Our team is improving with Nika taking Anna's role as another good passer who will take and hit some three pointers. Evina being a complete player and leader on our team. Paige is starting to become the full offensive threat that Geno wants her to be. She is playing like an All American right now. She has gotten to be a good defensive player by overplaying the passing lanes. What makes that possible is Liv who is our rim protector on defense except for against Arkansas when she didn't provide the help defense on Dungee when she beat the guards for some reason. Liv as all boneyarders know is offensively challenged in the paint against other of size and strength and who really wants to be a stretch 4, which I think she will be in the WNBA but needs to give us 10 points against the really good teams. Chrystyn played the last game like we all think she is capable of and scoring in many ways which she likes to do. She is not Paige on 3 balls and should stay with drives and the pull jumper which is there every play unless teams have an athletic big to switch on the screen at the elbow. Paige scores on this play a lot. Aubrey just needs to be Aubrey and if she can continue to gain confidence on her outside shot against the weak teams in the Big East it will make us better. Edwards ia such great energy and competitiveness which she needs to control a little and continue to work on the elbow jumper. Mir and Anna when she comes back give us players that can contribute off the bench when needed, We can win it all if we continue to improve and find our roles within the team. I can't wait for the South Carolina game. With a win, it will make us either 1 or 2. Go Huskies!!!!!!!!

I feel like if Geno actually read the BY he would inevitably be sucked into commenting. I keep look for posters that are witty and sarcastic. Unfortunately there are quite a few to chose from.

Scored 87 points, shot 55%/52% with 17 assists. Not bad.
Having a lot of 3s fall doesnt necessarily mean great offense.
A/TO ratio was 1.1.
How many points were in the paint?
Our posts scored 8 points.

For me, great offense is classic UConn: lots of movement, cutting, great passing and easy baskets. That's not what I saw.

We scored a lot, but it wasnt pretty/great imho.

Looking pretty or not, the point of offense is to score. Efficiently. They did that.

So ... a shot from half court that goes in is great offense but a bunch of passes/screens that leads to a layup is not if the shot is missed.

When was this half court shot in the game we were talking about. I must have missed that.

The last two games have been really good to watch. I am impressed with what Geno is doing with the interchangeability of the players and the confidence of the Freshmen. I really like the backcourt of Paige and Nika, but Geno is the decision maker. I was wondering how he would work Chrystin back into the lineup and he did. And, it worked. Liv and E are very good together. E tends to mitigate the lack of killer instinct in Liv. Shooting seems to be significantly improving inside and outside. And Paige is the shooting pro. Confidence, confidence and more confidence with a little of the DT swagger and this team could go all the way on any given day.

Finally a cheerful Geno presser. The guy I remember.

It's probably in another thread, but just in case:
