Geno gets his Olympic Ring on Tuesday

Per the ND vs. DePaul game. Bruno got his today.

Rings? From whom?

I was under the impression that
a) Olympic coaches get no Olympic medals;
b) after 2008, the US Olympic Committee now honors coaches of winning athletes and teams with their own medal known as The Order of Ikkos (Link);
c) And, at the risk of being redundant, coaches may get medals-- but rings?

Can anyone shed some light?

I believe USA Basketball not the USOC is giving them rings.

There were pix from the NBA All Star festivities Celebrity game which showed Swin, Catch and Maya with their rings from USA basketball. Some serious bling!

And it's not just Geno. I believe the entire staff is getting rings for their help with scouting, practices, etc.

My first thought was "I hope he can hang on to this one".

Going to be a busy pre-game. Geno et al getting Olympic rings, and Kelly and Kaleena getting their 1,000 point basketballs.

Only thing that would make it complete would be a BE regular season championship - but since that will have to wait until March 4th - and only sharing it is even possible - we will settle for rings and commemorative basketballs.

According to Jim Fuller, it will be even bigger. Rings for all of the coaches and the video coordinator. Bria for her 3x3 championship and Morgan, Stewie and Moriah for their U-18 championship.
