Geno Auriemma talks UConn women’s ‘exceptional’ 2021 recruiting class that excited him even before Azzi Fudd’s commitment.

Even prior to No. 1 recruit Azzi Fudd’s recent decision to sign with UConn, coach Geno Auriemma had been quite pleased with the Class of 2021 commitments he’d already received. That pre-Fudd trio — Saylor Poffenbarger, Amari DeBerry and Caroline Ducharme was ranked the No. 3 class by espnW, another strong crop of incoming players after UConn brought in the No. 2-ranked group in 2020.

Don't know if you've seen this, but it's a very extensive discussion of the present state of the team:

The most revealing comments to me were the ones regarding why the last couple of years have been somewhat unsatisfactory. Geno says that he didn't have players who were sufficiently versatile to play different positions. Result: the team was static and predictable. It seems that when player talent extends to versatility, Geno's teams look most like the ones we're used to. Great point (imo).

Gotta make sure that Geno does not croak from a pasta overload from all of this new excitement. He has put on a few pounds over the past few years, which he is entitled to, but now he has to keep up with these young firebrands.

If he switches to whole wheat pasta he will be fine.
