If someone will PM me and go to the trouble, I'd love to buy a DVD copy to watch. I'll pay postage, obviously, and cost of a six-pack.

Who are the guests? I wouldn't know because STREAMING CUSTOMERS AREN'T DEEMED WORTHY!! HINT, HINT!!!!:)

Omg no fair...I cant see it and of course I love CD! Seriously anyone making copies or recording for online we will love you!

Hysterical - Jamelle "keeping her swag" by pretending not to know the only two white people in the building. :-)

"I didn't want to practice hard." And then Geno benched her.... the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Anyone have an idea where Geno was considering a change to..back in early 90's.? I'm so very glad it didn't pan out.

surprised they didn't go into deeper details

I have always wondered why CD never took a head coaching job elsewhere. Jamelle's comments were awesome. She wanted to build a program up, like Geno did with UConn. I was also glad that Shea asked coach why he stayed with UConn for so long and his response was great. Love Geno and UConn.

It might be he was considering change but all the big time programs weren't calling. If he was a woman, the offers would of been there.

May well have been the Oklahoma men's program which has been noted before. Although that may have been later.

Based on his comments, it had to have been before 1995. He specifically said last night that it was during a time that he didn't think UConn could become what he envisioned. So the time frame would put it between 1985 - 1991 when UConn made their first final four - which would mean they had achieved a level of elite status. And figuring it took him a few years of experience to start to feel like it wasn't going to work, I figure it is more likely in the 1988 - 1990 range.

So, what programs made coaching changes during that period that Geno might have pursued but did not work out?

Chap is correct... so Ice when was this Okla job presented to him?

Missed this part (helping the kids) but I have it on DVR and I can't wait to see it.

Man, I love these shows. They have great "inside baseball" moments. The obvious affection, even while Geno is being mildly annoying, is fun to see as well.

If memory serves, CD did look at one or two openings along the way - I thought BC was one, and maybe Rutgers. The impression I have is, BC didn't look like they were willing to fully support the women's program the way UConn does, and that Rutgers wanted to go for a more established head coach. Don't know how accurate those recollections are.

DC, I don't know. I do know that references have been made to it in the past. Seems to be it would more likely have been in the early 2000s so it probably is not the right time frame.

Those posters that are criticizing Auriemma for benching players should be forced to listen to Shea Ralph's description of her benching in her freshman year. As the 6th man for most of the year she watched other players being subbed in while she sat. When the "walk on" went in she got pissed.

After the game Auriemma asked her how many points she scored. Ralph responded none, when he asked how many rebounds, she got even more pissed. She replied none. Auriemma told her that was the same number of points and rebounds she had made in the last 3 practices.

Message received. I don't think Ralph ever sat again.

Geno's questions were at the half. He then let her play in the second and laughingly said she had a triple double tearing up the opponent.

I read somewhere not long ago a quote by Geno where he was interested in the Duke womens program (I believe this was before they hired Goestenkors) but I dont recall all the details, but I will see if I can find it.

Chris Dailey went after Rutgers but withdrew her name to stay with UConn. She also did look at BC, but said it wasnt a good fit. I am glad she has stayed...I dont think it would be the same without her. Hers & Geno's chemistry is amazing!

I really hate I missed this show.

and she went on to 'nearly get a triple double' in the 2nd half.

I think the Duke opening was touched on in The Same River Twice. The Duke job opened up after the '91 season and Geno expressed interest after just taking UConn to its first Final Four. He was told to send a resume. Duke hired Goestenkors.

If only Duke had hired Auriemma/Dailey, I would be a season ticket holder, ha! I went to the Duke/UNC game Sunday -- it was intense but nothing compared to last night's UConn/ND game, wow!
