As always, follow these 3 stipulations. No research, no politics, no hitting "reply".

1..Average # of container ships lost at sea every day?

2..Newsman who hawked Timex watches on TV during the 50's/60's?

3..Star of 60's TV show known for, "Would you believe..?". Show name?

4..Meaning of "cenotaph"?

5..Where is Interpol HQ city?

6..At time of his death what was Glenn Miller's rank?

7..Within 3 years when was the first Teflon skillet?

8..The Prez who broke off official diplomatic relations with Taiwan.

9..Trinitia dei Monti sits atop the ______ _____.

10..In 1984 the assassination of Indira Gandhi led to the massacre of..?.

11..Scopaesthesia(?) would be helpful in dealing with Sting's behavior in "Every Breath You Take".

12..Merriam-Webster has chosen _______ as its word of 2018.

13..Jason Wu's business?

4..A cenotaph is a memorial, often for a war hero/heroes.

7..1957

8..I assume Nixon had to break off relations with Taiwan when he established relations with the PRC (the "One China" policy)

11..I dunno, but it sounds a little like Sinaesthesia, which is confounding of the senses (smelling sounds, etc.). I wonder if it's feeling breath when you're being watched?

12..I dunno, but on Jeopardy the other night they had the word of the year for the OED, which I'd never heard: youthquake.

7 - I'll go with 1963. Whether invented in the 50's or 60's (and I'm just guessing) I do remember my mother getting her first Teflon pan. For those who are younger, they have no idea of the difference some of these inventions made.

1..Four ships go glug glug daily.

2..He thought it was important to be known by 3 names, not just 2.
The Drive Quartet pays homage.

3..Drive & JR have both parts, while several are writhing in suspected Alzheimers.

4..Gamble and 3 describe it as a memorial.

5..There are substations, as some of you chose, but Rocket rightly puts HQ in Lyons.

6..SVC recalls Glenn's army status. Imagine that; you play music for rank.

7..Yeah Knights, like getting rid of fried egg remains. Rocket is only one year removed from 1960.

8..You'd think Nixon for his bringing Big China into the fold. However all the "I"'s were not dotted
until Jimmy's reign, as Gamble so writes.

9..Roma's Spanish Steps

10..Sikh body guards did the nasty, so all Sikhs must suffer. SVC & Rocket are knowledgeable here.

11..Big & Gamble sense Sting in the neighborhood.

12.."Justice", as so many people seek it.

13..Could our nearly all-male readership have doomed this question. Wu is a brand for fashion design.

1..Average # of container ships lost at sea every day? 4!
I don't believe it. 4 X 365 = 1,460 ships per year or between 511,000 to 730,000 containers per year --- no way
What is you dubious source? Did you mean to say containers? Not container ships?

How many ships disappear each year?
"According to an annual analysis from insurer Allianz, 94 ships (over 100 gross tonnes) were completely lost in 2013. There are many reasons for a complete loss. “Foundering” (which means sinking or submerging) caused the vast majority of the big losses."

My first hit said 1400 containers lost at sea per year. Did Chief perhaps misread?

I believe so. Otherwise we are talking about losing 500,000 to 700,000 containers per years. Not economically feasible. I found this. Old but I can't believe 94 ships lost in 2013 and then in 2017 (?) 1,460.

Some questions, including this one, are part of a feature of facts in my daily newspaper.
It's been reliable over time.
