Figured he might have best shot at gaining favorable access to Jere Quinn based on his Calhoun/Dickenman connection and earlier UConn coaching career.. Howie and Jere both played BB at Central.. But clearly its up to Tyler and his family. .Just know that Quinn's players put a lot of value in his opinions re: next steps. Gotta try to keep our elite talent in-state.

He’s been to a few UConn games and likes what coach Dan Hurley has done with the program. Assistant coach Tom Moore keeps in touch with him.

“They’re a good team,” Betsey said. “(Hurley) is getting them back to where they were, back when coach (Jim) Calhoun was the coach, so it’s cool. … Hurley is a high intensity coach, I like that.”

I know, seriously. Duke, UNC and UK have McDonald's All Americans on their bench when we barely get any. I've never understood why they wouldn't come to UConn and actually play instead of being one of many on those rosters. Duke, UNC and UK try the "throw stuff against the wall" approach to recruiting these days. Kids transfer out en mass at season end and another load comes in the next year.
