Please help me out here. Has the NCAA declared that 25 games must be played for a team to
be considered for the NCAA tournament? Given changing conditions...might that number be flexible?

Assume we play DePaul instead of South Carolina. Assume we do not manage to get in the other 3 missing games..GTown/Nova and Marquette.
Assume we do play LadyVol. Looking at that presumed schedule we would be playing 27 regular season games. Add 3 for the BE tournament...being both hopeful
and realistic here. That would make a total of 30 games pre NCAA tourney.

Granted a lot of assumptions: but it would seem like we are in good shape in terms of number of games played...unless covid blows things up.

I don’t think the number of games will be a problem relative to qualifying for the Tournament. But the easy way is for UConn to simply win the conference tournament earning the automatic qualifier.

I think someone knows the answer, but I recall during last season, which started late because of Covid, someone wrote that a team needed 13 games to make the tourney. Does this sound right? Is the number the same for this year? That seems like a very low number for this season.

I believe it was stated at the beginning of the season, that a team had to play 25 games to be eligible...........That may have changed.

"NCAA Tournament rules stipulate that a team must play 25 games to be eligible for the postseason. That, however, could change if COVID outbreaks continue to cancel games, NCAA executive vice president Dan Gavitt told The Athletic."
