Games Feb. 10-16

I flipped the channel but at one point were up like 16
wow it looked like Bama got hosed by a call there at the end. Georgia appeared from the replay to have committed a shot clock violation, which would've given Bama the ball with 3.5 seconds left to score. Instead, the refs ruled no shot clock violation, and so Bama only had 0.5 seconds. Georgia wins by 1.

Utah is coming back, now down 55-52 midway thru Q3.

Utes outscoring CAl 22-10 in Q3, now tied up w/ about a minute left.

Utah briefly grabbed a 1 point lead but Cal up 64-60 thru Q3.

Nebraska @ Northwestern, Huskers leading 31-29 approaching halftime.

Nebraska needs a win like this in the worst kind of way.

Too many games going on all at once!

Ohio State has come from behind to take a 1-point lead on Indiana. This would be a huge upset.

Indiana is in trouble. 74-67 w/ 2 minutes left.

Indiana hasn't been playing great basketball for a while now. It feels like they peaked in November.

Looks like Cal is gonna do it, up 82-73 w/ a minute left. I did not see this one coming. The bottom 6 of the Pac 12 are having a hard time sorting themselves out.

88-74 final Cal. 4th quarter must've been a disaster for Utah.

A fair amount of carnage today:

Indiana goes down at home to Ohio State. A huge result for OSU, just might seal their NCAA bid.
NC State going down at home to Georgia Tech.
Duke beating Florida State.

UConn survived after trailing at the half at USF.
Stanford with a magical escape act at Boulder, with some help from the hosts.

More games with NCAA tournament implications:

Nebraska fighting for their tournament lives and Northwestern is fighting to hang on to their hosting spot. NW just hit a 3 to tie the game with 1:40 to play.

Oklahoma, a bubble team, is in a back and forth battle with Kansas State, currently the Sooner are up 4 late in 3Q.

DePaul having no trouble today, up 82-60 over Xavier mid Q4.

Northwestern finishes on a 9-0 run to win 60-56.

Frankly, this was a choke job by Nebraska. Kate Cain had a wide open layup on a critical possession and inexplicably tried to pass to a covered teammate.

The window for Nebraska is quickly closing.

Michigan getting thumped by Rutgers today wasn't good for them either. What are you projections for how many Big 10 teams are likely to get in as of now?

As of right now, 8:

Maryland: 1 seed
Northwestern and Iowa: 4 seeds
Indiana: 5 seed
Purdue, Rutgers, Michigan, Ohio State: 8 or 9 seeds

Nebraska and Minnesota: on the outside looking in.
Michigan State: would need a miraculous turnaround.

Exciting finish in Norman. On FS1 right now.

Game is tied with 30 seconds left, after Oklahoma just hit 1 of 2 FTs. K-State has possession, called timeout.

Oklahoma is a 12-12 team yet somehow on the bubble at a #45 RPI.

But a loss here would be a huge setback.

K-State leads 85-82 with 53 seconds left in OT.

North Carolina is nosediving lately. Lost to BC today (who is 8-6 in the ACC and 15-10 overall surprisingly). 4 straight losses and 5 of 7. Between Duke's big win and another loss for UNC, @triaddukefan has probably attained a state of Nirvana today.

edit--didn't just lose, got thumped 93-75

I thought I saw a mention of St. John's earlier. Bad loss today @ Providence.

Yeah, they gave up a bucket and "and-1" with 4 seconds left to lose. Brutal for a bubble team. Or at least they were on the bubble.

North Carolina's RPI has fallen from the mid-50s to #102 in less than 3 weeks.

To have any chance at all, they absolutely must win their last 3 games, including the home finale vs. Duke, and probably win 2 games in the ACC tournament.
