Whoops, GameDay won't be broadcasting from Storrs, it is only the site for the evening game:

Neill Ostrout@NeillOstrout 3m
Let's clarify: UConn (Gampel) will be site of EVENING GameDay broadcast Jan. 18. Bilas/Digger/Rose will be in Philly in the morning.

And which teams will be getting game day?

Unfortunately students will be on break, still should be a great crowd tho.

@SteveJones_CJ: The 10 a.m. episode of ESPN GameDay on 1/18 will be Temple-LaSalle in Philly. Then U of L at UConn for 8 p.m. show. UofL-UConn tipoff at 9.

Spring semester starts on Jan. 21. Students better come back that Friday or Saturday, and this is the perfect reason to.

Fingers crossed that is the case!

Interesting set up. In the past, wasn't the site of all the "gameday" broadcasts also the final game of the day in primetime?

Right... doesn't make much sense... setup two sets and then move the crew (assume they would spring for for the quick flight?)

Good coverage for the AAC.
Week 1 at Temple/UConn
Week 4 at Memphis

This is very nice.

AAC has 3 games, ACC has 2, followed by a bunch of other conferences with 1 each.

You know this could be huge for us if we are as good as I think we are going to be. A awful lot of eyes watching us vs. last years champs. Without Silva on the court, I like our chances.

Usually dorms and apartments are shut down until the day before classes resume. Hopefully they'll make an exception.

I think they have made exceptions in the past for games that happen that Friday before school restarts. For some reason I feel like Texas was an example, but I'm not positive.

We're killing it with football and basketball schedules in 13-14 wooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Its okay, at least its a........ cough....cough AAC team/opponent, giving the league some good exposure. I would expect a lot of talk will be about the new conference. Which of course will give us UConn fans a better overview as well.

Actually I bet the 18th is the Saturday of the weekend before the beginning of Spring semester, and if so plenty will be there

Indeed it is, but look at what CTbasketball said about 5 posts before you

Yeah I read that after I posted but I seem to remember not having class the day after I moved back in one year, which is what made me think that there will be a decent amount of people there.

edit I think I'm remembering when we had snow and the first day of classes was cancelled

Cant wait for this one. Last time Gameday came to Gampel it was a great experience and all the fans brought their A game. The outcome of the game was bad (loss to Syracuse) but the atmosphere was incredible.

Students usually are not allowed to come back until that Sunday. However, IIRC when our women's team hosted Notre Dame on Gameday, they had move-in on Friday or Saturday of that week to allow students to be on campus, so they wouldn't have to drive to campus, go home, then come back the next day.

Should be a football-free night---Conference championships the next day. Most sports fans in the nation will be watching UConn/Ville
