Sunday will kickoff Dawn’s toughest stretch of the season as NET #1 Texas visits NET #2 South Carolina. Her next four opponents after that headliner are all ranked in the Top 25.

Next up after that, the Gamecocks travel to NET # 21 Alabama, whose ranking in the human polls may take a large dip after their spanking by Texas last night.

Next, the ‘Cocks will return home to welcome NET #18 Oklahoma to their first trip to Columbia as a member of the SEC.

The grudge match continues as Kim brings her fashion show and the #9 LSU Bayou Bengals into Long-sold-out CLA for what should be an emotional war.

Finally, Dawn takes her gals back on the road to Rocky Top against the # 16 Vols led by former Gamecock Talaysia Cooper as they try to erase the memory of an unguarded low post player at the top of the circle.

Five straight opportunities to end the two year old SEC unbeaten streak. Texas and LSU with opportunities to stop the home winning streak! Can SC stop them without their best defender?

Can SCar win four of five?

It’ll be tough for sure, but if Yesterday was any indication of the next woman stepping up, Joyce Edwards is ready and willing.

We need Tac to step up against the Longhorns’ big body Oldacre. She’s a brute

This summary needs to be read by a narrator who did those soap opera wrap ups at the end of shows (including the organ to emphasize key points). I could hear it in my head while reading this. Love this write up.

I would say so, and winning all five is not beyond the realm of possibility. If Coach Dawn Staley can keep this team motivated to play tough defense early on (like yesterday), then I like our chances against ANY team in the country.

This is by no means a slight on Ashlyn because she is just an athletic specimen and moves with such effortless grace you forget she’s even there and working hard. The difference in Ash and Joyce is that Joyce is like a bull. She’s athletically gifted (All-State in VB, BB and soccer) but you know she’s on the court because she is aggressive. She’s going to the basket aggressively and she’s going after rebounds aggressively. She’s got a low center of gravity and is very strong for a freshman so she’s hard to move off her spot. She’s the one that will benefit the most from Ashlyn’s absence. I’ve no doubt she will be excellent and will get her in the conversation of the Freshman AA team because she’s on such a high profile team that everybody will be seeing over the next 3 weeks. Joyce probably has the highest ceiling of any player on this team and that’s saying a lot. That’s my stance and I’m sticking to it. :D

This is all truth. Ashlyn has great potential, but Joyce is SPECIAL. There are levels to this.

Your team made that look easy vs TX. Shooting 66% early on and being big and athletic just isn't fair.;)
The difference was SCC didn’t get. taken out of their game plan even when there was adversity. They didn’t stop battling until the play was over. They were tougher and it showed.

Okay, next up is Bama. It will be interesting to see if they are ranked today after Texas killed them last week but they bounced back against Ole Miss

Given Iowa's recent slide (three-game losing streak at #23), I think that Bama should still be comfortably ranked somewhere between #19 and #25.

As an ND fan, I can't tell you how impressed I was by the Texas performance.Their bigs really hurt us, and yours dominated theirs. Also, your guard speed and athleticism is really impressive. It's hard not to see why you're #1, and the favorite to win it all again.

Can SCar win four of five?

Only two dangerpoints in that gauntlet. Alabama, Okl & Tenn only have a chance to win if SCar plays a B game. And SCar mostly plays A games. In the past they have lost a couple of conference games they should have won and it has always been due to their own play. LSU could win by double digits or they could lose by 20+. They are the only team that has any chance of winning against an A game from SCar.

So yes, SCar will likely win 4 or all 5.

The SEC is awesome, but SC is in a class by itself. They won't win one of these games by less than 10.

And, poor Vic, he can't beat Dawn. Texas going to the SEC must've absolutely crushed his spirits

That was tougher than expected. Bama hung tough. Blocked a bunch of shots in the first half. Our bigs toughened up the second half.

On to number three on Sunday to welcome Oklahoma for their first SEC game in CLA.

Has to be a B game for all 40 minutes. Last night, Carolina didn’t play well until the final 5 minutes. That was enough to turn a two possession game into an 18 point win. If the game had lasted another four or five minutes, would have been 30.

I have to say I didn’t expect a blowout win today. That may be our best game of the year. MiLaysia just feeds off the crowd. Great game today.
