A very military theme this week with Navy coming to town and the Husky Heroes being honored. Even Sons of Nutmeg got his wish with the Block C logo inside the outline of the state.

I wonder if it would help recruit teams to play us if we offered to put their logos where our current conference branding goes. There has to be some financial and public affairs value in that advertising, to be associated with a top twenty public university.

How does former and current NFL players coming back and talking about the league. life and Randy help recruiting and current team? I bet a lot.

PS I now know why the idiot before him didn't have any of these guys back. Disconnected them from the program. Insecurity.

Could be the last time we play Navy for a long time... They have 3 out of 4 OOC games every year built in (Army, Air Force, and Notre Dame) and the 4th is usually an FCS.

>>Quayvon Skanes has seen highs and lows and everything in between during his UConn football career.

It's been quite an adventure. "I've experienced some things," Skanes said on Tuesday. "I've been on both ends. Starting, not starting. Playing special teams, not playing. Different coaches. I've seen everything. It's been a great experience."

A red-shirt junior wide receiver, Skanes added to his list of experiences in Saturday's 56-35 win at UMass, UConn's first victory over a Football Bowl Subdivision team in just over two years.

Clinging to a seven-point lead midway through the third quarter, UConn dialed up a trick play that generated a touchdown. Freshman quarterback Jack Zergiotis threw the ball back to Skanes, who tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jay Rose in the corner of the end zone.<<

Anyone hear something about a bounce in their step? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Ostrout: Rejuvenated Huskies prepare for Navy

>>Bumps, bites & bruises -> UConn safety Diamond Harrell (right hamstring) did not practice Tuesday and appears unlikely to play for the second-straight week. Linebacker Ryan Gilmartin, who also has been battling an injury, participated in some portions of Tuesday’s workout but also appears unlikely to return this week.
Linebacker D.J. Morgan, however, returned to practice with the first team defense and could return to face Navy this week after missing the UMass game. Likewise, cornerback Tahj Herring-Wilson has returned to practice and could play this week.

Quarterback Steven Krajewski, who had surgery to repair his clavicle Oct. 1, continues to practice and participate in many aspects of the Huskies’ practice. The redshirt freshman was not with the first team, however, and seems still a few weeks away from contributing again for the Huskies.

Tight end Donovan Williams continues to practice despite an undisclosed injury, however he has not played in the last six games.<<

>>Sean Young, a reserve place kicker for the Huskies, has apparently left the team. A graduate transfer from Florida International, Young appeared in one games for the Huskies this season as a kickoff specialist.<<

Just one page back...
Press Conference hit and run:

Edsall on team this week: “They might have a little bit more bounce in their step.”

Gavin Keefe @GavinKeefe 1m
Edsall on his team's demeanor coming off a win: "They came to work this week just like they’ve done the previous weeks. They might have a little more bounce in their step."

The 56-points against UMass on Saturday were the most #UConnFootball has scored against an FBS opponent since 2009

HC Randy Edsall on LB Kevon Jones: "He doesn't know how good he can be. He [shows] flashes." #UConnFootball

No major news. Edsall called Navy "outstanding," said it's one of their best ever teams. He said Huskies players have some extra "bounce in their step" coming off a win but that things are mostly business as usual.

So it’s an 8pm game Friday night, so Randy continues his morning practice routine but maybe starts a day earlier. How about adjusting it to night practices? Oh I forgot, it’s past Randy’s bedtime.

Zzzzzzzz. Same tired old recycled bullschlit posts. You realize that morning practices are pretty common in college football by coaches of all ages.

This is unfortunate. Seemed strange using one of our last adds last season and a punter and even stranger when he wasn’t playing. In a program that already has scholarship roster spots open we need to make as many of those 25 adds count as possible.
