Game Week - UConn @ Clemson (Saturday 11/13/21 @ Noon on ACCN)

Nice to see Fortinl Keating and Rose back.
A healthy Rose can make a good Steven Krajewski even better. Let's hope the TE's get utilized. Quick passes could be our only way to keep things moving. Even a down-year Clemson D is going to be tough to run against.

The only speck of chatter re this game on the tigerpaws aka the Clemson message boards is a post how they need to revenge "The Shot," and loss to us in a regional baseball final a few years ago. But there's a pretty good Lymericksthread that is a rip-off of our game day Haikyu thread UCONN WEEK LIMERICKS

Hate to say it, but these are all pretty good. Also, limericks are way more fun than haiku.

Check out this definition:

limerick, a popular form of short, humorous verse that is often nonsensical and frequently ribald. It consists of five lines, rhyming aabba, and the dominant metre is anapestic, with two metrical feet in the third and fourth lines and three feet in the others.

Their equivalent of @Hans Sprungfeld has his or her work cut out for him or her!

-> On to the odds and projections...

Odds (via VegasInsider as of 11/10 afternoon)
Clemson -40.5; 50.5 over/under.

Metrics outlook
SP+ projection: 100% Clemson (Tigers by 48.3)
ESPN FPI: 99.5% Clemson (Tigers by 42.1 points*)
FEI: 99% Clemson (Tigers by 37.3)
TeamRankings: Clemson by 40.2

Prediction: 48-10 Clemson
(Situational stats per CFBStats.com. SP+ is a metric from ESPN's Bill Connelly, formerly of Football Outsiders and SB Nation, that combines ratings for the five factors of efficiency, explosiveness, field position, finishing drives and turnovers. FPI is the Football Power Index that has a similar projection-style model from ESPN as well. FEI is a Football Outsiders projection tool that judges team efficiency for a projection. *Expected Points Added is a football statistic that seeks to measure the value of individual plays in terms of points. This is done by calculating the Expected Points of the down, distance, and field position situation at the start of a play and contrasting it with the situation at the end of the play.) <-

At least this should temper us optimists.

I'll take the under on that.

To start the year, I was pretty sure the spread was going to be in the 60's.

For fine dining I can recommend Calhoun Corner. They had a nice selection of single malts when I was there last. Also the Clemson Conference Center.

Lost in this pregame chatter is the fact that Clemson is a pretty darned good school. STEM emphasis. Much like VA Tech and GA Tech.
