Game Week - UConn @ Clemson (Saturday 11/13/21 @ Noon on ACCN)

I fully expect Clemson to maul UConn on Saturday, but they are a much different team than what we all thought they would be back in Sept. Instead of being hit by a train loaded with TNT it may be more like a minivan full of groceries. Either way I expect it to hurt.

I could be wrong but I think it will be like the Purdue game, 50 to 0 type score. Clemson defense is still really good. Their offense isn't all that explosive but good enough to score 2 touchdowns per quarter against us. Hopefully, they put in their backups early in the second half.

They've scored 30 twice (GaTech, L'ville) and 49 once (SC State), otherwise have been held under 20 pts in regulation (21 in a 2OT game).

SC State is undefeated in MEAC play, although 5-4 overall.

So that's the bar. I've watched a couple of Clemson games and their QBs are terrible at hitting receivers - lots and lots of overthrows and wild misses. They're not a quick strike threat. I honestly don't believe Clemson can put up 49 this game. The question is, can we score a field goal.

With the season they are having...and playing UConn...I can't imagine they will be very motivated in this game. If they were a playoff contending team...style pointe still matter a little. Now...they got nothing to play for.

I expect super vanilla...lots of players with "injuries" not playing. Lots of true freshmen who haven't hit their red shirt limit on the field.

And I think they still smoke UConn. But... probably should be right around the spread. I can't see UConn scoring unless it's special teams or a turnover. No way the offense drives 75 yards on Clemson. But....I would love to be wrong.

Will be there with a small group of 5. We wanted to experience Death Valley at least once.

The final score and the ebb and flow of this game is 100% dependent on how Clemson's coaching staff wants it to go. UConn gets a fat check and hopefully no one is badly injured.

In all honesty, that's how I see this game playing out too. Even in an off season by their standards, they still have ridiculous talent compared to us.

I have watched most of Clemson's games this year. They will beat the spread. But I think they would lose to three of the teams that Uconn wil play this year.

Praying that these kids and the program are not humiliated on Saturday. I respect their mental toughness to be able to make it through 4 years in this program.
