-> “The way their defense is, once it turns into a throw, throw, throw game, they have such exotic coverages and blitzes and things you just do not see any other week except for when you play them,” Duke coach Manny Diaz said, giving full credit to the Huskies. “Where we’ve been so dominant, they beat us in the end-of-two-minute situations in both halves, and ultimately that was the difference in the game.”

No one has thrived in coordinator Matt Brock’s defensive scheme as much as Parham has. He finished the game with 16 tackles, came down with his first interception of the season on a tipped pass in the first quarter and was overcome with emotion after ending the game with what he called the biggest play of his football life. The graduate transfer from Washington finds himself third in the country in sacks (10.5), sixth in total tackles (96) and seventh in tackles for loss (14.5) through 10 games. He was named the winner of the weekly New England Gold Helmet Award on Sunday for his efforts.<-

All season, as I've watched Parham's progress on field play, I've thought that his play is a great representation of the UConn "6" legacy. Jazz would be proud...
does uconn football has a jasper howard "endowment" position or similar?

i was thinking kind of like endowed professorships, where a professor becomes the "John Doe Professor of Engineering", UConn football could have a player earn the Jasper Howard Award and have an endowed position. nice way of using the NIL funds for that player, and attaching Jazz's legacy to it. The money's getting spent anyway.

another idea is doing a Jasper Howard patch for 1 player a year, who wears it for the season. Kinda Like the Walter Payton award, but for UConn. So every year, 1 and only 1 player would be the Jazz winner. Walter payton stays with the player forever, but this one would be annual only, i was thinking.

anyway, just some thoughts.

Sometimes when a team wins/loses they lose sight of what a game was - that UConn/Duke was a great college football game. Even a Duke fan has to admit, that was one heck of a game.

And that goes for the game we lost to Duke last year.

The atmosphere, the see-saw back forth - what a high-level, high excitement game! Looked great for our program!!!
