People were very skeptical of UConn joining the nascent Big East. For a number of years(no Boneyard then😁) folks cried we didn't belong there, couldn't compete. And then lo and behold we did. The trio of Perkins, Calhoun and Auriemma put the Huskies on the map. Had Perkins stayed until the fateful ACC decison, it would have no doubt gone UConns way. P2-4 has to be a topic of discussion. The ascendance of UConn Athletics, Hoops and Football too, was about the right hires. The fall of UConn football was about the wrong hires. Benedict has done a great job as an AD fighting from behind the whole way. He made a great hire with Hurley, still has Geno, and Mora has stopped the bleeding.careful about how much you talk about P4 and UConn in the same breath - it seems to be an off-limits topic after the delaware loss.
I agree with you. I was told to shut up about the P4 by another fan, when I mentioned it after Delaware… so just spreading the love around. 😂People were very skeptical of UConn joining the nascent Big East. -> Ball State heads back on the road this weekend with a trip to Connecticut, coming off the program's first win of the season versus New Hampshire. Head coach Mike Uremovich, along with defensive standouts Nathan Voorhis and Alfred Chea, emphasized consistency and growth during the Cardinals' weekly presser…
… Voorhis, who began his college career at UConn, and Chea, also a Huskies transfer, discussed their ties to this weekend's opponent, and the preparation that goes into returning to their old stomping ground. "I've had this game circled for a long time," Voorhis said. "But once the season starts, you take it game by game. For me, it's about preparation and doing what I have to do to win the game." <-
Was always a huge fan of Voorhis... Wish he had panned out here... He's got 3.5 sacks already this year... Should be seeing him around a backfield a little on Saturday...
hope we don't keep playing like them...Lets go Jets!!
