No further proof needed. If what Tara said is true and she opted to play UConn straight up, without being physical, this is what you get. Which is why Penn State and others know; that your only chance of beating UConn, is mug them and hope the officials are watching a men's game.
I would hardly call this game non physical. Tara was using gamesmanship. UCONN players were thrown to the floor through out the game.

TOTAL DOMINATION!

UConn season average: 43 points per game, .291% FGM

Stanford today: 35 points, .193% FGM
We've had excellent defense and stats the last 4 years or so. Is this a record-setting defense?

How would you classify this game vs Penn State, in terms of physicality, for example? Of course there is always some physicality.

Equally or more physical in many ways. Less like ND physical or Penn State in that there was movement but extremely heavy contact in the post and tons of grabbing and over the top by Stanford at times and plenty of body checking.

Stef completely out played the best rebounder in America. She had 14 rebounds in 29 minutes to Chiney's 13 in 36 minutes. Chiney out scored Stef with 18 points on 6-22 shooting in contrast to Stef's 10 points on 4-8 shooting along with 3 assists to Chiney's 1.

Game set and match to Stef in the post.

Geno completely changed the game by putting Stef on Chiney instead of Kelly who covered her much of the game last year.

Amen Ice. All praise to Stef...she was a beast! :)

But given Chiney's still impressive stats in a futile cause tells me a few things: 1) Chiney is a star who will produce under any circumstances and make an immediate impact at the next level, and 2) Stanford is suspect beyond Chiney, and 3) Stanford's close call against SCU was no aberration and could easily replay itself early in the NCAA's.

Chiney is a great player but most of her success came once the pressure was gone. She had 7 offensive rebounds but giver the number of Stanford missed shots it is not really surprising.

No argument here...most of her stats were meaningless and clean-up in nature. She also wears an officiating halo and gets every benefit of their doubt.

Most interesting and completely overlooked fact about the game. After Bonnie Samuelson hit her second 3 and Stanford was on a bit of a run UCONN clamped down on defense and Stanford scored 6 points in the last 11:40. That's right 6 points in the last 11 minutes and 40 seconds of the game. Total domination. 4 FTs and 1, that's one, basket by Chiney.

Also, note that UConn only had 7 TOs today. We took care of the rock and we made our FTs 13 for 14.

Today the team took care of the small details.
