Good effort by the fellas overall though. Can't complain as they did have NCST working to win this. Maybe the possibility of a pulling this one out kind of tightened everyone up I the last 3 min. Proud of the team none the less

Giffey was horrific tonight. I don't know why he's getting a free pass.

Would it make sense, only for a couple of minutes per half, to play both Wolf & Olander at the same time?

Well, because Omar and DD were worse, I guess. Tyler was no great shakes either.

Damn - missed opportunity. NC State is a steaming hot pile of suck (a little talent, but no clue). If we got something out of the wing (DD/Omar/NG), we could have won this easily.

Honestly I don't think it would have worked. 1 on 1, they were both getting beat on the glass by their guy. They're both physically outmatched and they both did a poor job of boxing out. I don't think it would have made enough of a difference to negate the bad offensive lineup that would be.

Agreed. Them with Howell and us with no frontcourt and it's a tight game.

At the risk of being banned for life, Oriakhi would've been useful tonight.

Let's wish we had Drummond. He left too.

We made it a game against an ACC team, after struggling past a mediocre mid-major UNH. So, I'll take that, but I also know it only happened because Bazz had a great game and Wolf was near unconscious (for Wolf). Olander, Daniels, Calhoun all looked like absolute garbage. We are so weak on the boards, I'm not sure how a warrior like Freeman can even sit there and watch it.

Respectable loss to a good team. What could have been...

we are tired, short a couple of players and small in the frontcourt. But we compete with what we have.

NC State is a damn good team, picked to win ACC.

Hung with them even thought didn't play that well.

Nice development from Wolf, but somebody else has to step up in the frontcourt.[/quot
They have talent but aren't good. A damn good team would blow us out the way we.llayed

Talented yes, damn good no!

If we got anything than 1/2 a game out of Boat, 1/2 a game out of Bazz and 3/4 of a game out of Wolf this was 12 pt win.

Let's see:

Bazz - good
Wolf - very good
Boat - terrible
DD - terrible
Niels - pretty bad
TO - bad
Evans - OK
Omar - terrible

You face a top-25 team and you can't expect to win when everyone craps the bed.

Almost agree, but I bet if you rewound it you wouldn't think Tyler was bad. In fact, I would take the game tonight from Tyler for the rest of the year.

Well, if we had to be beaten by any team at the Jimmy V classic, I'm glad it's NC State. Hopefully Jimmy is looking down and smiling, because none of us are right now.

Really that puss bag mentioned that we miss AO?

Drummond was going to be a freshman this year in his original plan (altho of course he probably wouldn't have come here if we were ineligible). I'd much rather have him back than Oriakhi. Why waste time worrying about AO when someone much better also left?

The game was actually lost during that 4 for 22 run in the first half that was full of open looks, bad shots, and missed bunnies (i.e. Evans and Boatright).
