The number of people on Twitter who seriously think this matters somehow with respect to realignment is incredible. A lot of angry Louisville fans on Twitter, not surprisingly.

But it really drives home the point that the "Louisville basketball and football at this moment in time" argument was and is ridiculous. This is about money and demographics and history and projection; these people are way too smart to be swayed by short-term status.

Anyway, suck on this, Louisville fans. We're better today.

You do know that this is the first game he's played in all year, right?

Why should that matter? Just throw him in there when we haven't done anything all half, haven't stretched the field, D is fresh, he's rusty and expect him to be great. Sometimes people are nuts around here. Yet he does enough to win the game. Priceless.

Do we now have a qb controversy? Play Whit if he's not hurt in the 1st half, then JMAC to close lol.

After the refs kept UL in the game to tie the game in reg, I figured UConn was toast. Kudos for a gassed D to hold it together just long enough and for McCombs to find a little extra in the tank.

And as nice as it was to see Chad make two key FGs today, hard to forget if he's made just one vs Temple, we'd be bowl eligible now. Hurts all the more.

Louisville fan on their board says the Cards got screwed because they didn't give the icing TO on a 30-yd fg. Words cannot describe how ridiculous that is.

The game ends in regulation without the inadvertent whistle.
