1st quarter - US 19-8 - Canada having a tough time. End of the Q - lindsay, Maya , Seimone, Sylvia and Dee - Canada shooting 20%, US not a whole lot better, though I saw Maya hit a nice 3 early on. Parker hurt her ankle, off getting it looked at - doesn't seem to bothered by it.

Can't believe how many layups Team USA has missed. This will be an easy win, but Team USA should have had 27 or more points in the 1st quarter.

I have to say, even though I have nothing personally against her, I really enjoyed Diana's block of Achonwa's shot. I guess just leftover Irish animosity

Congrats to Canada for making the knockout round, but they're just not very good. Team USA is running good offensive sets, but very little is dropping. Canada is struggling even to get shots off.

2d Q starts - Maya, Dee, Lindsay, Fowles, Catchings - Canada has another turnover (highest in the tournament) - shot clock violation. Catchings hits - 23-8.

Maya with a great, strong move to the rim early but couldn't finish . Nice 3 tho

Canada ranked 11th - shows that WBB doesn't have as much int'l depth as we'd like it to.

Canada blocks a shot by Whelan aftter a nice pass from Maya.

The missed layups and easy buckets are going to hurt us later in the tournament if we can't fix those. Ouch, tough misses by almost everyone.

Parker back in - rolled her ankle earlier, seems ok now. Canada controlling rebunding

Low scoring 2d Q - nice pass from Parker to Dee, 29-13 with 4 minutes to go in 2d Q.

Great passing all the way around, miss the 2, then McCoughtry rips down the rebound and gets the bucket. But so many easy misses - definitely a little scary for the future.

Sue, Lindsay, Parker, Seimone and Dee. Seimone at the free-throw line - misses 1, then US gets the rebound after the missed 3 and Parker hits a long 2. US gets it back again, Angel hits another 2 - Canada misses another, Parker hits another. 40-17, 40 sec left. And another - she's 100% so far.

Interview w/Catchings - said Geno's goal is to keep the ball out of Smith's hands - make them think twice about passing. I'm not tracking Canada's players individually, but it seems to be working! The crowd is now getting into their 'supporting the underdog' thing.

Great for Parker! Sounds as if she is the star of the first half, and I'm glad for her. How are the guards doing? I am at work and so I can't follow the thread. So sorry...I hate it that people without TV's but with laptops can't watch. Makes me really mad....but of course, I could get cable...but we already pay 500 per month for the phones, etc. How much does the media need from me? Grrrrr. Sorry I know this is OT.

Our erratic shooting can drive one nuts, but the defense is so stifling and the depth is so awesome, nothing seems to matter.
GA looking VERY svelte out there....but my TV is gettin' old!
