Couple of sloppy passes by UConn , lucky OSU is inept at putting the ball in the hoop

15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal for Moriah. She's not starting THIS season slowly.

UConn lead 50-24 at the half. OSU is a talented team, but Kevin McGuff has to start coaching and run some offense instead of allowing players to take whatever shot they want. OSU does have 5 assists because Shayla Cooper has 11 points and is OSU's leading scorer.

I never would have predicted this. Knew we were good, but this is a legit top 10 team who gave the #2 team in the n ation everything they could handle. Just WOW... And all this without Chong, Butler, or Boykin. Holy smackdown, batman!!

Mitchell has 1 point. I still think she gets to near 20, if only in garbage time.

Glad Katie and Napheesa got significant minutes in 1st half. They need the minutes against elite competition. Offense did slow down when they both played. That's to be expected in their 1st college game. Napheesa had 2 points and 4 Rebounds. Katie with 2 points and 2 rebounds.

Not to mention it's at their house with all the pregame hype and festivities they had going on.

I know it's only halftime, but I was thinking a lot in this run-up that we might be giving OSU a little too much credit.

We saw how many years of playing UConn in the Big East it took for ND to compete/win a few games/be relevant consistantly nationally.

OSU has some good players/one great/and one All American, did well last year (still lost 11 games and lost in 2R of tourney), and competed with SC Friday night. But they haven't experienced UConn consistently: though they played in 2010 and in 2013 (both 20+ point losses; Craft and Alston started in 2013).

I know we can be hesitant to give UConn too much of a free pass before the season has even started (and last year's Stanford loss loomed in the rearview), but they returned 4 starters, including Stewie, Mo, and Tuck as determined 4th year players.
