We don't look so good. Stanford shooting 57% from behind the line. They look real good.

Young in a leadership role. Let's face it, Hartley and Dolson were the best of the best as team leaders!

They miss Dolson and Hartley but there's tons of experience among the upperclassmen. If Ekmark, Edwards, and Williams were playing heavy minutes I'd agree.

Kiah has ZERO rebounds and Morgan has only two. Kaleena has to score double digits in the 2nd half if UConn is to win this game. She can't let Stewart have to do it all. Stanford has completely taking her out of the game and she only has one rebound.

I've seen repeated mistakes on defense, opening up lanes making it easy for Stanford to get to the rim. Multiple players making the same mistakes, repeatedly.

Don't forget The Cardinal changed their offense this year. Always different seeing it live than watching tape. UCONN will adjust. I'm more concerned about the 3's from a mile away. We'll see if Stanford can keep that up in the 2nd.

Kara had an interesting point: Stanford began to have success inside when Stokes sat down.

Still, you had the two headed monster at the helm. You don't have them anymore. It's going to be an adjustment.

I don't agree, they're winning now and she hasn't scored. If she scores doubles in the second they will win going away.

Let's give some credit to a really good game plan from Stanford
On both offenses and D
They've found things to attack
And they've put up a fine defensive plan.

I agree, they didn't play like upperclassmen for the most part in the first half.

I have no doubt UCONN will win by double digits, but I'm impressed with Stanford.

Geno is obviously the best, and I would rate Muffett #2, but I think Tara is #3. Keep in mind, she has no Top 10 HS recruits on her roster. Though McCall and Kailee Johnson (So) were rated as high #10-11 on some sites. Lili Thompson was no ranked, and only ESPN had Kaylee Johnson (freshman) ranked in the Top 100. The other players were Top 20-40 or so. I think it really shows what good coaching can accomplish, where as other teams (Duke, Tenn) are filled with Top 10, even Top 5 recruits and look bad.

Their guards Are great, and we tried for three of their bigs. They have a lot of talent.
And the question, if there was one, of this team being as dominant as last yr, was just answered, IMO.

Stanford is a smart team
Folks who walked around touting UConn as being the best this, and the best that are getting as much of a reality check as the team is right now.

These things happen. Manage your expectations and support your team. GO UCONN!!!
