According to a site Brett McMurphy just tweeted about Uconn is a 14-point underdog vs. BYU. I wonder how much that changes in the next 4 months.

Have to go with what you know. Based on performance of both teams last year, he's being generous towards UConn.

Can't expect anything less as it would be pure performance speculation, based on a lot of unknowns, for both teams.

Barring serious injuries (God forbid) to BYU's impact players, its hard to imagine any big change in the line. Just not enough data to justify it.

That is a big number for a road team. I would have thought 10 on this.

The lines for the first games of the year are by far the least accurate. If you know what you are doing or have team insight, you can find ways to make money.

Wouldn't mind if the line went up a little more. only going to make us look better when byu loses

Without even looking at BYU can't see that going up over 14.

I was expecting 10-11.

It strikes me as dumb to even come up with a line when you're 4 months away from the game. So much can change between now and then, why bother.

I bet the line moves in UCONN's favor. Double digit home dogs are fairly good plays, especially when the crowd will be rowdy on opening night. I tend to favor dogs on opening weekend anyway.

It's hard to imagine that this thread coexists with another thread arguing about what happens if we go 11-1 vs. 12-0.
I think it's 11-1 vs the spread. Anticipating vegas disrespect............

You want to hear something terrible...

BYU is coming across time zones to play on the road on a Friday night and laying 14 or so...

The next day Ohio State is going on the road to Navy... and laying exactly 14.

I was hoping you were planning your tailgating spread. Makes more sense at this point.

I expected 10+, but not 14. Experienced mature team against a new HC and system. Folks had better get ready for a rough start to next season. Boise will be a significant challenge as well.

I think that is a fair line. BYU is a very good football team. I think it will move to 12 or 13 before the game, though.
