Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Thank you! 1000 likes! 40 Minutes of DRED----- for KY.

Next on my wish list - 2002 tourney game against ODU. Poor coach Larry was asked to identify one flaw of the team.... she said something like, "maybe Diana's defense?" Boom

Really enjoyed watching that - really fun to see how the freshman have grown over the last 2.5 years - Stewart was obviously doing great things but she is so much better now than she was during that magical NCAA run. Moriah actually was playing much better than I remembered - thought of her freshman year much more as a bench role without that much impact, but she was playing really well and modulating her speed much better than in my memory. And Morgan was actually less of an impact player than I had remembered her being - steady and giving Stef and her injured legs much needed relief, but only occasional flashes of the player she has become.

It is sort of fun comparing those three as freshman at the end of the NCAAs to our current pair who still have two months to reach that time period in their development. I think in making that comparison they are actually well on the way to the same kind of impact.

Reminds us that the high energy beginning of an opponent requires a patient response and a little juggling of line-up to get the right chemistry. The amazing thing about the current team is that it has so many options on the bench and can change its chemistry instantly. A very patient, experienced coach, 3 first team all-americans and the deepest bench since 2001....

Moriah really played great in the tournament her freshman year. She had a good game against Maryland too in the Sweet 16. I remember there were some people questioning her ability to run the point as a sophomore...HA!

Best play of the game: Matt Mitchell at 49:30 and 51:10 of the replay, just they way I remembered it!

man! Didn't realize how good this game was. Thank you for posting it up.

Thanks for posting this. I don't think I saw it when it happened.

It never ceases to amaze me how quick and energetic Bria Hartley was during that tournament. A real key to UConn's success that year.

To cite a favorite pet peeve: Kiah Stokes came into that game with 6 or 8 minutes to go. She made three good blocks, two of them outstanding, but not one acknowledged by the broadcast team.

Call the !@#$%^& game and editorialize later. Please.

Several things I found interesting: The broadcast crew had a bias towards Kentucky in that even with UCONN ahead or tied, they incessantly talked about how wonderful Coach Mitchell and the Kentucky team were, with a tone of routing for Kentucky; the story line of Sumarie (sp?) Walker was not mentioned or developed - perhaps that is only of interest to UCONN fans; they seemed to go out of there way to critique what they felt were wrong calls in UCONN's favor and imply those calls negatively impacted Kentucky's "comeback". In sum, UCONN clearly has a target on its back even by commentators. I also want to add my thanks for this post - it was almost as exciting to watch as the original.

Why wasn't this game added to the UconnHuskysGames site? Who does that?

A great game! Forgot how fast Bria was. And poor Doty, trapped and fell a few times in the back court.
Bria should have started, then it would have been a blow-out from start to the end.
