I've just finished Book 3 (Storm of Swords) - I have to admit that I'm having really mixed feelings about continueing with this series. I have Feast for Crows, but is it worth putting the time in to read on?
Book 3 is the best of the series. A Feast for Crows is not an easy read, and is the worst of the series. Book 5 is pretty good if you make it through 4.
Don't read any further until he finishes the damn series (if he ever does), you'll save yourself the frustration of waiting for the next book to come out.

Yes, supposed to be seven. However, as the series was originally conceived of as a trilogy, then immediately becoming apparent that it needed to be longer and projected to five books (now seven), the ever-increasing wait between books (2 years, 2 years, 5 years, 6 years), I have little confidence in the author being able to finish the thing any time soon, or at all, given his writing pace, his age, and his outward physical health.
