Stewart didn't play again. It's too bad he was sick. Would have been a good opportunity for him to get his feet wet.

Clingan being an 80/70/90 shooter would be nice.

Wasn't he injured or did I miss something and he healed up and then got sick?

Castle shooting 60% overall despite being 28% from 3 shows what he can do as a driver finisher. Not sure we've had a slasher of his quality/size since maybe Dyson. Not an archetype UConn has had a lot of since the 06 team.
Dyson couldn't drive like that, we simply haven't had a driver like Castle.

Article from the 1st game said he was "feeling under the weather".

Freshman Jaylin Stewart was feeling under the weather and did not play in the opening game.

Reason I asked was he didn't play in the St Joe's scrimmage because of injury supposedly.

He hasn’t played in any but seems to be taking part in all the activities. Probably is some sort of little injury.

Small sample size but Clingan making his ft's is the most important thing I've seen, even having the threat of an occasional three is huge.
Unironically agree. If he's a 50% FT shooter, he's going to get hacked. If he's a 75% FT shooter, they'll have to think twice. And having to honor a pick and pop 3 opens things up for our guards.

Our starting lineup may actually be an upgrade over last year on offense with Castle able to create for himself in addition to others.

Ref: "Eurostep for Euros only."
Yeah, he has to stick to the Amerostep only. What was he thinking?!?!

Granted the vantage point was from the far end of the court and behind, but it sure looked good to me.

It didn't look like they faced the intense D they'll face in the Big East, but like last season, they look pretty deep. Hurley should be able to work in the freshman as the season transitions from non-conference to conference action. It's going to be a lot of fun to see the freshman develop throughout the season as Hurley builds them into a force come postseason play. They'll be very good early on, comprised of a nice mix of returning experience and young talent, to be very special when BE and NCAA hardware is at stake.

I like the potential of 5 out with Clingan passing to our 4 slashing shooters. I think Castle, Karaban, Newton, Ball and Spencer can receive the Clingan pass and take the ball to an unprotected rim.
