Awake, cannot sleep,
might as well start haiku thread,
for today's match up.

My apologies,
not trying to cause problems,
by starting this thread.

So here goes....

Next test…the big dance,
Number Ten seed....Terrapins
face Uconn Huskies!

Big East v. Big Ten,
Rematch from two-thousand two,
Outcome…not the same!

Talking heads not sure,
Some say Huskies win this one,
Some say Terrapins.

Should be a tough one,
More than a walk in the park,
Game won’t be pretty.

Uconn starting Five;
R.J.Cole, Martin, Whaley,
Bouknight, Sanogo.

The bench players are;
Carlton, Akok, Gaffney and…
Adams. Tough Roster.

My opinion is;
Uconn Huskies win by four,
Then on to round two!

So here goes....
Thank you for starting
But please remove this one line
It is not haiku

It's not personal
Simply Edit and delete
Support the mojo

Plus a suggestion
Avoid ambiguity
In your eighth haiku

Josh C is tricky
Is his last name 2 or 3?
Just skip the question

Edit to "Josh C"
And noone can be confused
Cuz Josh C is 2

The rest is copied
From yesterday's Big Ten thread
That's right: it's Game Day...

Good morning; it's spring
Started 5:37
Eastern Daylight Time

Stop your bickering
Write haiku, and stoke mojo
Count your syllables

Time to pull the sled
All now working together
We each play our part

Root against the B1G
Root against the ACC
But do not bicker

Today's a work day
For coaches, players, and fans
You are my teammates

Season 3, Game 1
NCAA TOURNEY TIME
Let's win this one game

Remember the rules
3 lines: five, seven, then five
Be excellent now

Just ate an egg and
Three pierogi for breakfast.
"How weird!" you exclaim...

The pierogi was
A side with last night's fish fry.
Nuked in a minute.

But should UConn win
Tonight, I'll be eating same
At least five more times

.-.
.-.
One week to create
A UConn-worthy haiku.
Or maybe haikus.

The Maryland Terps
Have nothing on us, you see?
They have poor mojo.

On the other hand
We have something special here.
We are dangerous.

Polley and Josh C,
And Isaiah Whaley, too.
They are out for blood.

We have James Bouknight,
And RJ Cole running point.
Terps don’t stand a chance.

Add in Sanogo,
Along with AJax and Rese.
There is no debate.

If Gaffney goes off,
The Terps will lose by thirty.
You heard it here first.

So, let’s go huskies.
March is when we are the best.
Bring home number 5.

Thank you Hans Sprungfeld,
Appreciate your comments,
Haikus are tricky.
Educational,
not criticism: plural
and singular same

"Haiku are tricky"
and "Haiku is tricky" - Both
correct, though diff'rent

But I might be wrong
Haiku contains great power
and humility

It strengthens focus
and empowers Huskies fans
to help players win

.-.
I once wrote a game day haiku
But the stanzas were somewhat askew
I went to the dojo
To learn of the mojo
@XLCenterFan hasn’t a clue.
A canny entry
Though clearly it's not haiku
What to make of it?

Methinks it's misplaced
in a Game Day Haiku thread
and could hurt mojo

An alternative:
Perhaps a lim-er-ick thread?
alt-mojo-stoker

Nothing now's easy
Competition gets harder
And stakes are higher

And oh, by the way,
I fixed your effort's cadence
To give it more zing

I'm still against it
Anything that's not haiku
Belongs somewhere else

Forget about why...
Out of con-fer-ence, this team
is undefeated

When was the last time?
National Championship
Twenty eleven

And when before that?
National Championship
Nineteen ninety-nine

It has happened twice:
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Let's do it again
