Been looking forward since the season began to seeing the team live tonight at storied Walsh in South Orange. It will be under twenty degrees at game time so the indoor parking will be at a premium. I expect early pressure on the Pirate guards to get the transition game going and a lot of running. Look for Aaliyah to dominate underneath on offense and for Paige to thrill the locals. We just want more of the same with Q'n Ice continuing to get more comfortable and into the flow of a 7 man rotation. Look for Ines and
Amari to get their minutes also with Ines making an earlier than expected appearance. All in all, keep the ball rolling guys!

Storied? In 2024 or even 1994. Is a maybe a HS venue.

I am from a neighboring town, first time at Walsh in the 70s. Last time early 90s to see probably the best Set on Hall women's team, Jodi Brooks was the best. Beat a good Texas team in the tournament.

I'm going back to the 50s when it housed the best team in the country. At one time it was the biggest arena in the metropolitan area other than the Garden.

Normally a school would be advocating for a new and larger facility but with the SHU Men's team playing in Newark, the Women's team has yet to break 1,000 fans in average attendance in any of the past 7 years of noted attendance as 2021 did not have fans due to Covid (659, 872, 655, -,997, 873, 925, 916) there is simply no need to pay for the cost. Walsh holds 1,316 for basketball and given how the school currently supports the team, why complain?

This years attendance is 659 per game so Walsh is half full so what exactly is the complaint on this forum? That there are so many UConn fans in the Tri-state area that want to go to this game but can't get tickets? Where were these fans last Saturday that could have gone to UBS Arena in Elmont to see them?

Keep in mind that the parking garage isn't connected to Walsh, so there's still will be a short walk outside.

I would've gone if I could've gotten a ticket tonight. I like watching games at Walsh. By way of comparison, it's actually less than half the size of the old field house at UConn.

FWIW, Brooklyn is a PITA to get to from where I live. Brooklyn is a to get to. South Orange is easy.

True but it's a lot closer than if you have to park close to South Orange Avenue. I will be there very early. I want to see them warm up as well.

UConn has 5 kids in the past few games averaging double digits and a couple of more who will be soon. With that and our suffocating defense..... well thats all she wrote

I was planning to make the 3 1:2 hour drive, until I read that free parking for BMWs only applies to Islander games.

I think I have an extra ticket. Call me at +19737156220 if you are interested
Thanks! I think I am going to pass on it this time. I'm looking forward to catching the men's game against Creighton and then flipping into the women's game. I definitely appreciate it though!

Since you are a Jersey guy you do know that Danny Hurley's first coaching job was at St. Benedict's Prep in Newark?

I do, but I'm pretty sure he was a Rutgers assistant before the Saint Benedict job. His Jersey roots are deep being a Seton Hall player and growing up in Jersey City.

I grew up in Connecticut but my wife is fond of reminding me that we've spent more years in New Jersey than we did in Connecticut.

I saw him play when he was at the Hall, I had season tickets. I also went to and played at St. Benedicts before he was born.
