It is very sad that she lost her brother at such a young age. She is the only one Geno exempts from covering tattoos.
Yeah I remember Geno was asked specifically about that when Saniya first came to UConn, and why she doesn't have to cover it, and he seemed almost clueless that she even had a tattoo and didn't seem to care one way or the other. My Guess is CD makes most of the rules, and as Geno said on the Geno Project he let's her think she's in charge and that way everyone's happy.

I'm probably gonna' get crucified for this one, but I believe Geno is very cautious about recruiting any player who is loaded with tats. I believe that speaks volumes about that recruit, and none of it positive in a UConn women sort of way.
I think you are right. Do most parents encourage their kids to get tattoos? I would say, NO.
Would not a coach such as Geno want kids who respect elders and authority. I know, I know. Everyone out there with a tattoo will dislike this post. Most of the older guys I know, say that they had too much to drink one night, and decided to get one. I don't really know, but that's what I hear.

Yes people tend to stereotype those that have tattoo's. Often those that get them regret it much later. I know I really regret the swastika I have tattoo'd on my forehead. D*mn you Charlie Manson.

Recent studies show that:
-people with tattoos are more prone to use illegal drugs
-more women than men have tattoos(I was astonished by that)
-15% of Americans have tattoos
-the best way to remove them is by laser surgery
-Journal of Criminal Law says: they usually show a personality order

Saniya has tape on her wrist area, so I guess she covers it up these days.

I had only three immutable rules for my kids: No drugs, no motorcycles and no tattoos.

My daughter is now a fitness professional in NYC and when she visited at Christmas she started hinting she wanted a tattoo, probably just to get my reaction. I told her for God's sake, you're 36 years old, I don't think I can forbid it anymore. Two days ago she sent me a pic of the new tatt on her calf.

I think I might double down on the "no motorcycle" though.

Personally,i would like to see Geno relax his stance on the girls having visible tatoos.Perhaps this flaw in not recruiting these extra players over the years points to the sheer ineptitude in his getting any good players to come to Uconn. After all isn't this the same coach who has lost half of the last 20 national wcbb championships?Getting that shoddy record past me as a fan is like getting the sunrise past a rooster.Sheesh some coach that is.What are we in the last 100 games anyway?I'll tell you what we are. We're only 99 and one with the victories all double digit wins but in that loss i just know that some where in America there was a girl with a clown painted on her face that Geno passed on.We could be 100 and 0 in these games but for Geno's stubborn policy. It sucks to only be a fan and not be able to influence this terrible precedent.lol

You missed suggesting that Warde Manual, before he might exit for Michigan, should probably fire Geno & CD for their poor perfromance as you have described it and then stun the WCBB world by hiring Tyler Summitt to take over the program.

Pat would have a stroke,lol.

I think that Geno is a big fan of both Britney Griner and Seimone Augustus, irrespective of their numerous tats.

So basically you're a racist.

Ha, cooler than black. Please.

Yeah, black is really cool, but they are the BLUES Brothers. ;)

Between Geno & CD they really clamp down on ANYTHING that brings attention to a player that isn't BB related!
As mentioned no names on jersey backs.
No Tweets or media during season.
No nail polish.
No visible tattoos. Sue Bird & DT had Tats on their ankles covered by socks!
Dressed up in warmups or school stuff or nice clothes while out say at a mall.
No fancy weird headband just plain squeezy? .
Respectful to fans or reporters, etc.
Geno & CD are among the few coaches that recruit the total package not just a BB player!
Does anyone know the reasoning behind not putting the names on the backs of jerseys? I'd think for new fans it would be helpful.

"Hi mom, look what I did with my dorm money! They gave me 10% off for the misspelling!"

Yea, they are UCONN. Not individuals. Draws attention away the team. They play for the front of the uniform, not the back.

The question is: does W.M. have a tattoo?

What I have been wondering lately, is why she wears such a harsh contrasting color. They do make that KT tape in many colors. Why the jet black? Why not something that compliments her skin color a little more closely? Just say'n.

I remember when black comedian Godfrey Cambridge saw the (then) new "flesh colored" Band-Aids, he said they (the makers) were not thinking of him.

Yes Saniya has a tattoo on her wrist, usually covered up with flesh colored tape but last night it was covered with same K-Tape that Gabby wore.
Chong's tattoo is in honor of her older brother who died tragically when she was 11 to 12.
