Gabby Wins Top Female Athlete Award

UConn athletics announced a number of awards, including the male and female athletes of the year, during the 2018 Husky Awards Show on Tuesday night.

UConn women’s basketball star Gabby Williams was named the female athlete of the year, while Abdou Thiam of the men’s soccer team was named the male athlete of the year. The women’s basketball team also earned the Team Performance of the Year award.

The Husky Cup, awarded to the teams that “best practice team development and community service,” went to the men’s and women’s track teams.

Well deserved award for Gabby. Crystal accepted the award for Gabby and also for the team and seemed to enjoy her role. Also enjoying her role was Batouly who was one of the two hosts for the event. I’m hoping to see Batouly play a much bigger role on the court next season.
