What the heck? Getting pretty frickin' tired of the body shaming of women. Talking about conditioning is one thing; saying a woman is overweight because she's not willowy enough for you is another. All you critics - post pictures of yourselves so we can let you know what we think of your weight.
I don't agree at all with the statement that Maya needs to lose weight. Obviously she is an incredible athlete and is in great shape. I was just saying the reason why people in general don't always lose weight despite working out is because the body adapts.

Even Bill Walton said that he (Walton) could not jump, and the UCLA would have a few laughs on his dunking skills. So if Thompson was any where above the rim, he got the ball above Walton's reach.

That is not accurate. Walton, before his foot injuries, had a good vertical leap. He could get his hand more than 2 feet above the rim from a standing start. He was a great shot-blocker in college and he actually led the NBA in blocked shots early in his career. Unfortunately I couldn't find the classic SI picture, where he is contesting a shot with his head at the height of the rim, but here are a couple of examples of a pretty fair jump.

I completely support your disagreement with the overzealous (and mistaken IMO) critics, but I part ways with you when you call them out to post their own pictures. Separate issue -- they may even be "willowy"!

If a physician urges you to stop smoking as s/he puffs away on a cigarette, that does not invalidate the quality of medical advice rendered. Sound advice, bad example.

Maya's critics are completely in error about her conditioning -- their physical condition is irrelevant.
I hate to disagreee with you, my friend, but my point wasn't about mocking the critics. It was about helping them understand how ridiculous it is to have strangers make judgements about them based on superficialities like appearance. Some guy thinks Maya is the type of person who gorges on gallons of ice cream because she's not thin enough for him. Ridiculous.

Maya is ripped, and she gave up dairy 2 years ago so no ice cream at the dairy bar for her.

P.S. This pic is from May, 2011, before she lost 10 pounds and was still soft & doughy...

Not sure about you guys/gals .... but after reading through these last 2 pages.... I REALLY want some ice cream  Not sure if I can eat gallons..... but a few pints could hit the spot... well maybe a half a gallon

Don't forget, Gabby missed most of her junior and senior seasons because of knee injuries. She's nowhere near her potential. Look at the improvement from last year. If she improves that much each of the next two years, she'll be an AA.
