"Athletic" can mean many things to many people-strength, quickness, etc. Not sure I care-I'll take Gabby any day.

It's pretty remarkable that the top 3 are only 5'11" post players and Howard and Williams are world class trackletes.

It's interesting how trackletes (I love the neologism, if it's yours, good on ya) move differently than other players. I looked Howard up because I could just tell she was a long/triple jumper. Napheesa, too. She was pretty much a jack-of-all-trades in track, but was pretty good in the triple jump and the high jump.

Howard is another of my favorite non-UConn players to watch. She was awesome in last night's game. She's never met a missed shot she didn't want to chase down. Love the blue-collar work ethic.

Great minds!! I was actually going to start a thread on the best athletes in WCBB. You have 4/5 I felt strongly about. My 5th spot however went to Raygiene (Moncrief) Lewis.

Why does it seem like Raygiene has been at LSU forever?

UConn signee Mikayla Coombs adds to her state title collection

UConn incoming freshman Mikayla Coombs led the Wesleyan School to the Georgia 1A Private School title and now there are a couple additional state titles in her collection.

Coombs ran the anchor leg as Wesleyan won the 4x100 relay at the Georgia 1A Private School Track and Field Championships earlier today at Berry College.

Coombs teamed with Callie Davis, Sutton West and Meagan Lynch to finish in a time of 48.54 to win by 1.1 seconds over Eagle's Landing Christian Academy.

Coombs then ran the leadoff leg as Wesleyan won the 4x400 relay team which won the state title in a time of 4:00.65.

We've seen Gabby take over games before.
If she was on a team that needed her to do that every game, I wonder what kind of stats
we might be looking at. Most times she looks to her teammates.
Nothing wrong with that.
