Was hoping maybe the Liberty would pick her up, but I think she can help Seattle out a lot. Honestly, I think she's better than any of their guards, including Loyd. People may be like "what"? But...

Jewell is averaging over 17 shots per game shooting at 36% to get to her 20 PPG. She's almost become a volume shooter. Her 3 % is just over 26%.

Even if you think she's not as good as Loyd, she certainly brings more than Horston and Diggins. And she doesn't need to take 15-20 shots to impact a game. It will be very interesting to see how they use her and how she fits in...

I read that title as Gabby Williams resigns from the storm and I thought I didn't even know she had joined them.

My third grade teacher was right reading comprehension is important.

So is writing clearly: "re-signs" would have been the right spelling.

Happy for Gabby and Seattle. This move could make Seattle a huge threat. A lot has to good right for that to happen. Players have to buy into their roles and put the egos on the back burner. I love this move. Welcome back, Gabby!!

Phew, when Gabby was signed, I was afraid they might cut Nika, but alas, they did cut Williams. Skyler gave Nika kudos yesterday, so I just wonder why she doesn't play at all.
Same here.. It says a lot about Nika forever to make this Seattle Storm team and keeping her spot through this whole season thus far. With that said, I think that a team with Lloyd and Skylar leaves little wiggle room in that guard rotation. Honestly, Nila would be a great guard with the fever, passing to to Boston and allowing Clark to play in her natural form, a pure scorer. (Of course then there's the whole Clark leading the league in assist per game. :) )

Article includes post-Ollympics memories:

"We've been building up to it for three years," Williams said of the Olympics. "It wasn't exactly what we wanted -- the dream was to get the gold -- but I think what we did made a lot of people proud. I didn't even really realize until a few days after the game what impact it had on the country and the people.

"That was an amazing experience. It was an amazing feeling to have my family there. All of my family from Paris and the States were there, so just to share that moment with my loved ones was amazing."

Fearful that French fans would blame her for not sending the game to overtime, Williams was instead recognized more often after the game, getting nothing but love.

"Every single person that came up to me," Williams said, "every comment that I saw was, 'Thank you for that game.' I don't know how to say it in English, but 'You made us vibrate.' The fans have just been so supportive in France and it means a lot that we were able to touch so many people. Everyone saw how hard we worked and that's what really touches me."
