LoL. It will most likely be rotated between North Carolina and the Civic Center. I least that is the way I see things playing out.

I could see it in Hartford every once in a while..... But the ACC WCBB tourney has a great home... and has been there for 15 years or so. (of course Im a biased observer).. Cant see it leaving here more than once in a 4 year period. Not sure if a city like DC would enter into the picture as a possible host down the road.......... only if Rutgers and UCONN were in the ACC. It would definitely get swallowed up and overlooked there... as opposed to either Greensboro or Hartford.

Why? i suppose if there is enough interest from fans but i'm not sure what the attendance is like in NC...

The tournament has primarily been in Hartford but as triadduefan has pointed out that will shift to Greensboro. I made a quick statement that if UConn might be entering the ACC when this plays out and the Hartford location would be compromised.

This years final was held in a torrential monsoon..... attendance would have easily broken 10,000 if not for the adverse weather.

The Coliseum seats 23,500, but they reduce the capacity to about 11,000 for the tournament. As you can see... the finals usually draw at least 10,000..... the semi-finals are well attended as well... usually above 9,000. 1st and second round game attendance varies... the morning sessions on thursday and friday are made available for local school kids... i think 4th and 5th graders to attend. Usually they get above 11.000 for those games. One of these days i will make it to these early games.... i hear they are extremely loud and provide a great atmosphere... even at 11am. The evening sessions probably get around 4-5,000 on thursdays and fridays. Some of you might have attended the regionals here in 2008. The Coliseum without a doubt provides the best complex for a tournament in the country. The ACC Hall of Champions opened up this year at the Complex....and they have a 30,000 sq ft pavillion that holds the ACC Fan Fest during the tournament. One of the good thing about the location is that there are 9 ACC schools within a 4 hour drive of Greensboro.... and alot of fans stick around for the weekend, even after their teams lose. Its truly a great few days of women's basketball... the city has really embraced it... and I think its scheduled to be here until 2015 or so. Despite the fact that im a 10 minute drive away from the arena complex, and im obviously biased... it really is alot of fun. Very diverse racial makeup... as well as trememdous diversity in terms of age. Lots of gray and blue haired people... and youngsters as well.

The nightmare scenario almost happened the past two years. Last year the semifinals were between Duke-Ga Tech, and Boston College and NC State. This year it was Duke GaTech and UNC and Miami. It would have been very interesting to see the attendance if it would have been a Ga-Tech BC final in 2010... or GaTEch and Miami this year. I still would have attended regardless.... but im a huge wcbb fan.
