I know, I've been a persistent critic of the Courant's woman's BB coverage and especially its chief reporter going back to the EDD incident, even though Nan says I'm mistaken.

And I know you won't believe this but I do not hold grudges but this guy makes the hairs on the back of my neck...

Of late, he seems to be getting scooped on all the key stories...just look down the current Boneyard list:
Jim-Deb, Carl-Tuck, John's chat described by Erik as "Nothing really new or earth shattering..." and on and on.

But what got my dander up big-time this late-afternoon (Beijing time) was the following page that I happened to open almost by mistake, sniffing around for some news.

Check it out: http://www.courant.com/sports/uconn-huskies/hc-ucwomenbioswebfeb06,0,6283884.story

Had I missed something? Was I freaking out? Had I entered a time warp?
No, the UConn site confirmed the absence of any major adjustments to staff, I hadn't lost 4 years, and was current, Just some fishy stuff going on in the reportage and /or editing of our paper of record.

These guys are sleep-walking through their jobs. It's a disgrace.

I love how you add your full name when you are getting on your soapbox about something. Hey, you're not running for office!

Of course it was an archive article, as nan said. The Courant has a data base of old articles. In todays world of computers everything is saved somewhere.

Chats are a reflection of the guests as much as it is the host. And with only a couple of days before the first exhibition game, there isn't any earth shattering news to reveal.

While you are mad that John didn't break the Deb story or the Tuck story, I'm just thrilled that UConn women get such great coverage.

John lives near the shoreline. I'm sure even the papers in China said something about Hurricane Sandy.

I've followed the hurricane very closely (even if the Times is presently not permitted) as my threads have indicated. This is not about this week (well, who knows, perhaps it is). Nan, that's a great explanation, goes right after the dog ate my homework.

You are comparing a dog eating their homework to dealing with a life threatening storm where you have no idea what John is dealing with in regards to his own home, and keeping his family safe.

You complained specifically about an archived article. At least man up and own up to that.

What I was trying to say was: Perhaps Nan is right and then joke about it.
Of course its an archived article. The theory that it is storm influenced is a possibility.

But it's also entirely possible that the article and storm are mutually exclusive.
Anyway, I've said my piece on this one and will stand down

Morning all!

Of course the storm didn't cause an archived article to pop out and annoy you this morning. I mentioned John's being affected by the storm as a reason that he's not providing scoops to keep you happy.

Maybe next storm we could have John abandon his family on the shoreline and move inland enough so that your newspaper reading continues uninterrupted.

I hope you're paying for a full subscription to the Courant from China.

Just my two cents: The Courant seems to get scooped all the time by the other papers on UConn women, and that dates to 'way before Sandy hit. The storm has nothing to do with that fact.
