Jim has posted another very informative blog from Florida. http://elmcitytoeaglevillenhr.blogspot.com/

He spoke with Brianna Turner whom he says may be the best player in the 2014 class. Turner visited UConn in March and enjoyed the visit. When asked what she's looking for in a college, Tuner said: "I want a coach to take me out of my comfort zone and give me something I have never had before."

I think it's safe to say Geno will remove her from her comfort zone. LOL

As for Cooper, sounds like she's looking to leave the west coast and Fuller thinks UConn should make a run at her:

Cooper, a 6-3 post from Carson, Calif., said something rather interesting to me when I asked her about having more teams from the East on her list than those in Pac-12 territory.

"I want to go more East Coast because it is more rough and tough basketball, the East Coast thing is what I want," Cooper said.

Of course my next question concerned whether UConn has expressed interest and Cooper said they have.

Jim has more on Tucker (hard to get a read on her), Harper, Chong, etc. Good read.

Both Cooper and Turner have made major jumps since last year, shame for us re Cooper but she obviously is now set on going East.

I agree that we should make a strong pitch for both of these kids.

Cooper sounds very good.

Turner sounds like someone with Diamond DeShield's athleticism plus 2 additional inches of height. She plays above the rim. She has the potential to be an iconic player.

I saw Turner as a freshman and she was very, very impressive. Skinny, but tough, and her coach had her playing outside the paint a lot even though she was the tallest player on the team. She played with a great PG in Amber Orrange in high school and plays with MoJeff in AAU. Hopefully they are close :) I am going to try to catch her next year in a HS game.

If UConn scores the coup of getting Brianna Turner out of Texas, Geno's reign of terror will be assured through the 2017-18 season. I would be dancing in the street upon hearing that news.

Me too! Since he's recruiting so much down here, he might as well just start scheduling more games in my lovely state...UT (the real UT) SMU, Texas Tech...I'm already planning on heading to College Station for the TAMU game...who else is there, Stephen F Austin? UTEP? TCU? Just schedule them all and spend a winter month down here, I say.

UConn will be playing Houston as well as SMU as a NBE opponent.

Awesome! Did not know this. I despise Houston but will make the trip to see my beloved Huskies. Then leave as soon as possible.

Come on...you don't love the industrial look that Houston has to offer?

I need to get a new video camera for this! :D

Either one of these two young women (Turner or Cooper) would be a great addition.

But Houston has better food and isn't the Jersey Shore of Texas. ;)

Nothing like a good Dallas-Houston debate...

Good to see Cooper seems like she wants to come East... hope she lands at Duke.... if not Duke... wouldnt mind seeing her at UVA.

I used to go to school in Houston..... many years ago... i know its changed alot since the early 1990s..... I loved it as a city though..... I've never been to Dallas to compare the two.

Many thanks to Jim (and Carl) for the excellent coverage this offseason.

+1. Jim gave us amazing coverage of the Orlando camp and his readers responded. This is from his latest blog:

Thanks to everybody who checked out this blog. The blog never had more hits than it did on Thursday and Wednesday's page view total was the third most ever. That figures to be of assistance the next time I have a chance to do something like this. Although I am back, there are more stories and/or blogs to come from my time in Florida. Tomorrow I will post blogs about Harper and McCall and I believe my expanded feature on Breanna Stewart will run in Sunday's paper.
