"Mo, she is pesky, she is a pest. The energy she brings, everything she does I would have to work 15 times harder just to get her results. She is the leader, she doesn't back down from anything or any challenge and she is fun to watch. She is probably one of the most exciting players I have ever seen play college basketball."

And on playing at UConn...

"I think there is only a certain type of person, not a caliber of player, but type of person that can come and play there," Greene said.

Kalana is a wise woman. I hope she is refreshed and hungry to play her best ball this season.

I have a special affection for Kalana and her family.

I was at that game in Gampel when she had her horrible injury. And Geno stayed with her in the locker room to comfort her. leaving the coaching to Chris.

Then I had the extraordinary good fortune to attend her "homecoming game" in Columbia, SC. I was in my wheelchair at the top of the lower bowl and Mrs. Kibitzer was down front with Kalana's mother, father, and about 40 friends and family. Kalana's mom asked Mrs. Kib about me and when she learned where I was, she climbed all those stairs to where I was seated and gave me a huge hug. All the folks nearby had to be thinking, "Who in the hell is this guy?"

Kalana Greene. A fine player and a quality person. And I know exactly where she acquired all that class.
