One small quibble - the score was 81-58, not 81-63 as they say in the article. "Connecticut blew past Maryland, 81-63, on Sunday, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla". Small thing, but one might want to get the actual score correct. At least they got the "UCONN winning" right...! :p

Other than that, though, a really good article...

I liked the reference to "...UConn's "Whack-a-Mole" talent pool: Clamp down on one Husky star, and someone else would break loose."

They also have Morgan Tuck as #1. No one on UConn has ever been #1. (Am I correct?)

Overall thorough and thoughtful review. On that "quiet" question, however, when you are reviewing a game you have to recognize that teams take advantage of what's given them by their opponents to exploit, and with MD making a concerted effort to stop the 3 and keep Stewie in check, UConn knew that Tuck would likely be a pretty much unstoppable force inside, and that MoJeff would be able to drive inside too. There is a reason why Tuck took 9 shots in the first half to Stewart's 9 -- it was the better option because of the way MD was defending. To say that Stewart had a quiet or less-than-usual first half when her 10 points are more than half of her 17.8 ppg average just shows how expectations sometimes get out of line with reality. And KML took advantage of the outside pressure to feed for 7 assists, and that is exactly what great teams do, not sticking to hard and fast way of trying to score points.

And A69, you don't think Tuck is #1 after last night's performance? But yes, you are right, though in the picture the caption editor obviously couldn't read what her number was.
