Wow!!! Straight to the point article that didn't really hold back.
This discussion on RebKell predicated this article: LINK
He could have just posted his opinion there too.
I have no problem with it when a coach can coach. This guy has men's high school and girls' AAU background and success.
It might be wrong (on a moral basis), but one has to do right for one's family. A good salary for the family, plus a scholarship for the other daughter, tough to say no to that when it's actually legal.I also think it wrong for Kelsey's father to accept the position as he's taking advantage of his daughter's talents and who knows what decision she would make if her decision didn't impact their families livelihood. It adds additional pressure on Kelsey that she doesn't need.
No wonder so many see hypocrisy around every NCAA corner.
So true. Along with the presidents.Because, of course, it is coaches who set the NCAA's agenda....

This is silly. The only thing the NCAA should be concerned with here is that the kid attends the school that they want to - nothing more. If I were the NCAA all I would do is to indicate to the athlete that because of the family considerations if the kid has to submit her LOI before her age of majority that the NCAA will accept it without the co-sponsorship of her parents. She gets to go where she wants -- simple as that. If she wants to be coached by her father who cares. That is Ohio State's problem in convincing other recruits that there won't be any preferential treatment in the coaching and player development.
But this crap happens all the time with 14 year old girls and nobody gets in a lather about it. Hey, Courtney Ekmark -- you can't enroll at a private HS because your father coaches there. You have to go to Phoenix Central for your own protection. You too Kelly Faris! I mean talk about undue influence -- a 14 year old kid still living at home vs an 18 year old with the Constitutional right to reside wherever she chooses?
