FSU trustee haggard: heard about rumor of UConn for Maryland

For you realignment knuckledraggers, recall that he was the FSU BOT chair that teed off on the new ACC contract, igniting a firestorm of speculation about FSU's intentions.

He has surfaced, this time as one of a gaggle of trustees ( no longer the chairman).

He appears nonplussed about the "loss of MD" ( "doesn't affect us one bit"), nor does he use any code words that FSU should look elsewhere.

And he mentions the "rumor" of UConn as the turtle's replacement.

Yeah that's been posted in a few threads... I suppose it's good that he didn't dismiss UConn out of hand.

I think if you were to look at this from the ACC's perspective, I would think dropping Maryland and UConn is an overall upgrade if anything. The ACC kind of lucked out by having one of their bottom half teams poached. After probably NCState and Wake I can't imagine a more expendable team from their league's perspective (obviously BC goes without saying).
