Good Steady Play by all the starters. FSU is a good team but won't compete with the ND's & UConn's as they don't have enough fire power. Would have to play the perfect game to beat UConn or ND.

KML's absence has really loomed large this year. UConn has to make up for it by scoring off TO's, but in the half court they are far easier to defend.

Of course our 3 Pt shooting is down but one could argue her departure has been a positive in many ways. Last year we had lost a game by now in large part because of our dependence on the 3 pt shot. This year we have proved to be a more balanced team. Stewie has spent more time scoring inside rather than looking for the 3 more which she did a lot up to and including last year.

Nice long post-game interview w/Stewie sitting with Becca and Pam Ward.

Yes, slow-paced, grind-it-out game. The Huskies may not be quite as great at this point of the season as many had expected but they're still the best team. One more tough test over the next 4 weeks. Hopefully, that time will give KLS, Butler, and co a chance to heal.

There is no way losing the best 3-point shooter in the history of the game is a positive in any way.

It's certainly put more on Stewart's shoulders and so far she's been fantastic. Still, hard to replace KML's incredible efficiency of last year (#1 in the nation). Think this team has another level in it if Collier/KLS continue to improve and Butler ever gets healthy.

We haven't lost a game. Last year - yes.

PS: Don't misunderstand me . I love her and miss her. She was spectacular. Just forced to not lean on her like at times last year. How many times last year did we say "If it wasn't for KML".

That I agree with 100% :)

I'm sure Geno prefers this type of game vs ND and DePaul where if his team misses a couple of shots, don't have to worry about your opponent making 2 or 3 threes to cut into their leads. Once UConn got a double digit lead, FSU didn't have the fire power to make a huge comeback for a win. ND and DePaul have the fire power.

Just to be clear KML was definitely not the most efficient #1 on the team let alone in the country. She did score the most threes for Uconn and set the all time record for makes, but Moriah was clearly more efficient = she shot a little better from three and a lot better from two.

WBB State had KML as the most efficient player in the nation. Jefferson may have shot slightly better from three but KML more than doubled her in attempts and makes. Overall, a more impactful offensive player.

Yup.
And now she has moved on and we have a really amazing team to watch.
Perfect?
No.
Match your picture of how they should play. Clearly not even close, given your commentary, right.

But an amazing team that shows us something every game that we haven't seen before.

Chill Enjoy it, yea?

Ok - maybe one of those advanced statistics that sometimes don't mean exactly what they say.

As for offensive impact - they both played 28.7 minutes per game and on offense:
KML scored 80 more points on 67 more shots shooting .518/.488 to Mo's .587/.496
Moriah had 87 more assists with only 6 more turnovers A/TO 3.1 to KML's 1.9
KML had 21 more offensive rebounds

On defense:
KML had 25 more defensive rebounds
Moriah had 58 more steals
KML had 9 more blocks
KML committed 11 fewer fouls

Absolutely loved KML but don't quite see how those stats make her 'more efficient'. The 87 more assists represent a minimum of 174 more points and the shooting percentages were clearly in Moriah's favor. The additional offensive rebounds are important, but still don't tip the scale back to KML.

ya got a funny way of showing it..

"Gabby is clueless out there..." "Get Williams out of there!"

Cut her some slack. Don't expect so much out of her. A great athlete...average basketball player, for now.

We're talking offensive efficiency here, not overall impact.

Jefferson averaged 1.48 points per shot whereas KML averaged 2.29 points per shot. I'd assume that rather large difference plays into the efficiency rating.

Stephon Curry currently has the best efficiency rating for one season in NBA history. Why? Because he takes more than 11 threes per game and makes 47% of them.

I disagree. FSU can compete and potentially beat every other team except UConn. They have the horses, they just need to cut down on their turnovers. They were competitive for much of this game.

I thought the huskies played well tonight. Defense is starting to ratchet up and shooting improved in the second half. Ball movement, as always, was excellent. I think the 44 point beat down of Ohio State has led to some unrealistic expectations. This game was never in doubt.
