Dream and Wings has been very entertaining.

The one thing I'm coming away with is that McCarty-Williams looks like a legitimate pro. And Dallas needs at least one post who can shoot over 50% from the free throw line.

Gulich looks pretty good, too. Phoenix was not a good fit for her last year.

I was able to catch the last few minutes of the Fever-Liberty game on the YES channel (probably because the Yankees were rained out?).

The three Husky alumnae on the Liberty were all on the court at the end of the game. That would be Tina Charles (who had 32 points and made two critical free throws at the end), Kia Nurse (who had 12 points), and Bria Hartley (now wearing her UConn number of #14 after wearing #8 in previous years in the WNBA). The other two Liberty players on the court at the end were Amanda Zahui-B and Asia Durr, although Durr apparently played less in the early part of the game than you might expect (less than Kia but more than Bria).

After Tina gave New York a 1-point lead with 7 seconds left, Tierra McCowan (who had not been on the floor in the previous several minutes) made a buzzer-beating layup to end the game. McCowan only played 14 minutes in the entire game, which is somewhat surprising.

The announcers mentioned that Tina had only missed 9 games in 9 years with injuries — a remarkable feat of durability considering the position that she plays.

Ogunbowale's WNBA debut--5-16 from the floor.

edit--in 21 minutes. No more shy about shooting as a pro than she was at ND it appears.
Yeah, I was gonna point out that she took a couple of really ill-advised shots toward the end, and in another possession, kept the ball long enough that she had to toss up a prayer.

Why is McCowan not starting over Nat Ochonwa only getting about 13-15 minutes a game since the preseason?

Her line up is Wheeler at point, K Mitchell at SG, Dupree at SF, Laney at pf, and Achonwa at C. That is a weird lineup.

McCowan had 5 PF and has an issue with FT's still. Still,. it seems probable McCowan will ultimately get into the starting lineup. She is a monster on the offensive boards.

Indiana could be decent if McCowan quickly adjusts. 11 points, 10 FTA, 6 rebounds (5 offensive) and 2 blocks in just 14 minutes is a stellar debut. 5 fouls will obviously need to improve but she'll adjust with time. Considering just 2 years ago she was a blip on the radar as a prospect, she'll likely continue to improve at a fast rate.

Napheesa leads all scores through three quarters and I can’t say I’m surprised. I saw this coming when she was in high school, she just has a knack for scoring and rebounding.
