Friday Sweet Sixteen Games

Great block there. Huge play

Hearing Grant Hill on the CBS coverage refer to Cuse as a blue blood makes me want to puke. Must be all those Helm trophies they have

This is how you recruit and coach basketball. Jay Wright and Nova recruiting class rankings:

From 247
2015 - 29
2014 - 48
2013 - 36
2012 - 27

From ESPN
2015 - 24
2014 - 37
2013 - 31
2012 - >25

That team is Villanova. Those classes led to a NC. They are currently a 1 seed. Their 2016 class rankings were 45 and 33 respectively.

Maybe the refs should go to the monitor again, just to double check and triple check to make sure their is 43.9 left.

The only team that keeps Nova from winning the NC is probably Loyola and that is only because they clearly have God on their side.

I mean, depends on how you define blue bloods. UCLA-Kentucky-UNC-Duke-Kansas-Indiana are that upper echelon. Any level beyond that--UConn-Michigan State-Michigan-Syracuse-Louisville-Arizona-Villanova--gets debatable. But Syracuse is in that conversation.

Yes, but the fact that hardly anyone wants to consider UConn a blue blood and referring to Cuse as one is what grinds my gears. 4 > 1

I mean Jay Wright specifically, I think he has learned to become a better coach.
ASweet’s first good take of their posting history was an observation that these recent Nova teams finally learned to rip an opposing team’s throat out

Gotta wonder what they/Wright did to turn that corner. Maybe 10 years of coming so close finally did it

I mean, we're essentially Indiana, if Indiana had done anything in 30 years.

If they're blue bloods, so are we.

But I take your point.

What are the benefits of being a ‘Blue Blood’?

Don McLean was strumming his gittar in Westwood the last time UCLA mattered.

(I know UCLA was good after that but I wanted to type gittar).

We're one awful coached inbounds defensive set from this basically being true anyway.
