Friday pre-game plans

Never too early to start making plans for the pre-game. Anyone have any good recommendations for happy hour within a mile of the garden? Or even better if anyone has any connects w/ any bar owners/restaurants willing to host a Husky Happy hour or open bar. I took the day off work so planning on heading down early.

I've done the Beer Authority in the past and thats always a go to for me but just wanted to see what else might be out there.

Across the street from the Garden is a Macys. Follow that side street a few (right side of Macys as you face it) & down a few doors is an Irish pub & makes great pastrami sandwiches. It's usually loaded with UConn fans.

that irish pub, The Playwright, is on 35 th between 5th and 6th aves. I recommend it as well. A little pricey, since its midtown, but happy hour prices are great. Big tv's, good food.
