Let’s not go crazy here. Gonzaga is 26-0 with most their wins as blowouts.
I know it's not nice to criticize Gonzaga, but all their quality wins were fairly early, especially Kansas and West Virginia, so it will be interesting to see if the usual failure in the tournament rears its ugly head again.

That’s fair. I was thinking the same thing. However, they did win them....they have beaten everyone on their schedule. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

They continue to struggle to get top teams to schedule them.

I mean let's look at an example of how lazy Lunardi must be. He still has Oklahoma as a 7 seed. Let's compare numbers:

NET: Uconn (28) Oklahoma (37)
KenPom: Uconn (17) (Oklahoma (38)
BPI: Uconn (15) (Oklahoma 31)

It's not even DEBATABLE.
Oklahoma has now lost 5 or 6, including a loss to 9-20 Kansas State. Oklahoma struggled with 2-22 ISU Wednesday and got their wheels blown off in the first half to Kansas (who isn't great this year) last night. They are inconsistent as inconsistent comes.

1 common opponent: @ Xavier. We won by 8. Oklahoma lost by 22 and gave up 100 points.

Haha not just a 9 seed the worst 9 seed in the tournament because he has us going against the overall number 1 in possible second round match-up!
No, its the best 9 seed, going against the worst 8 seed, that is who gets the 1 seed.

He posts the actual seed listing, it is not that hard.

Also, why anyone uses Lunardi as a source is beyond me. Similar to using Mel Kiper for NFL mock drafts.

I mean only one team can win, so most teams are failures, and the "flaming out early"—which encompassed both them and Nova for a while—is largely a myth now. Their Performance Against Seed Expectation is actually pretty darn good.

2014: 8-seed, Second Round
2015: 2-seed, E8
2016: 11-seed, S16
2017: 1-seed, Title Game
2018: 4-seed, S16
2019: 1-seed, E8

Lunardi literally doesn't know who James Bouknight is. He's one of the least accurate 'bracketologists' when it comes to seeding. 11-2 when fully healthy while winning 10 of those games by double digits. Those are Gonzaga-like numbers.
If he was graded off of success in his postseason stuff, he would be graded a Providence

Who know what the clowns at the NCAA will do. In my mind, we are a 6 right now and would drop to a 7 if we lose tonight. With a healthy Bouk, it will be a battle. Without him, well, sorry guys.

This screams 7-9 seed to me?. I am going to really enjoy the complaints of the 1-4 seeds bitching about having us as a 6-7-8 seed in their bracket

In fairness to Lunardi, Bracket Matrix has UConn as a 9 seed at the moment. There is a lag of about a day or two as brackets are tabulated, but that's about where consensus is at the moment. Obviously a win today moves them up a line or two minimum.

How about this?

This bracketmatrix is great. After putting in this much effort, it would be nice if they would freeze the rows and columns. Halsametrix has UConn as a 5 in this matrix.

You need to revisit - usual failure is ridiculous
Zaga has been the most successful program in past half dozen years or more
Most any sane UConn fan would love to have the win numbers that Zaga has been posting
You think beating WVU and Kansas is not impressive? UConn has 1 "quality" victory (USC) - I think the Zags have a few more - did you watch them vs BYU the other night? The 1st half was awful but that 2nd half was impressive and BYU is a really tough team to defend.

Eh I saw BYU hang with the Zags for most of the game the other night. Would love the opportunity to play them and knock em off

Yes, but we were missing our best player.

Does Lunardi work in Bristol, live in CT, and sometimes post here?
Is he a closet fan boy, trolling for mojo?

If so, Hello Joe!

Oklahoma quadrants
5-90-04-16-0
UConn quadrants
3-33-36-03-0

Oklahoma WAB/SOR/KPI avg: 39
UConn WAB/SOR/KPI avg: 28
How does Oklahoma have zero Quad 2 games? That's almost impossible.
