I won’t take the time to list all the games here. Just wanted to get the thread started.

The most intriguing games IMO today are:
  • Marquette-Rice. This was probably the best draw Rice could’ve gotten. Marquette isn’t a tall team to begin with and they’re missing their best rebounder (and only interior starter) due to ACL injury.
  • Missouri-Drake. Both teams seem a little underseeded.
  • Rutgers-Buffalo. Two very different styles. Rutgers’ defense will be tasked with stopping one of the most prolific scorers in the country in Cierra Dillard.
  • South Dakota-Clemson. A nice mid-major vs. p5 matchup.
  • Arizona State-UCF. Not exactly contrasting styles here. I actually think this is a favorable matchup for ASU.
  • Miami-FGCU. It was fireworks when they played two years ago in the same round and on the same court.

I was sitting here watching this South Carolina game and realizing they dont lose a lot to graduation and have a great recruiting class coming in next season. Will there be enough minutes to go around. Could be a log jam. I would defer to our South Carolina friends for more insight.

Will be interesting to see if Cooper returns or tries to go pro

Belmont trying to make a run here this 2nd half but South Carolina has pulled away

Marquette 20 Rice 19 at the half. Rice can win if Mulkey starts converting bunnies against these dwarves.

.-.
It’s exactly the kind of game Rice wants to play. Low scoring, slow and half court. Except for a brief outburst early in 2Q Marquette was ice cold. And they have zero height to match up with Mulkey.

Iowa with embarrassing number of turnovers. (19 turnovers by 4:41 3Q). In the first half Mercer shooting was awful; marginally better 3Q. Now 41-44 Iowa trying to stay ahead at 3Q 4:17.

Mercer has cut the lead to 1

Wow...what a great game! 21 turnovers for Iowa. The two teams are trading baskets.

I think I deserve a gold star. I am watching this game on my phone...small screen and all.

The field goal attempts discrepancy is huge. 62 for Mercer and 38 for Iowa. That is a whole lotta shots.

Mercer keeps getting offensive rebounds. Offensive rebounds mean more shot opportunities.

Got the 4 screen grid on Apple TV going. Got Iowa-Mercer, South Carolina-Belmont, Michigan-Kansas State, and Marquette-Rice going. Eyes are glued to the Iowa-Mercer game though.

I really like how Rice uses Nancy Mulkey in the high post. She isn’t a back to the basket post player, but she plays well in the high post.

Would be a huge bracket buster for me if Mercer won but this would be a huge win for Suzie Gardner.
