Why do I cringe every time we get to the line?
Yes but keep in mind there is not a more pressure filled game than this one. Every single player knows the history of this matchup and knows that losing to a lesser ranked TN club would be all over media. And from indications, the crowd was taunting Evina (and guessing they were less than hospitable to everyone else) . Not an excuse but a realization that they needed to feel that environment so they can grow mentally tougher. In this direction, Paige already deep in her shooting slump iced her only 2 FT's so we know where her head is.

Pressure makes any task harder but let's face it, anyone who has played as much basketball as a college player has should be able to make at least 70 percent of their free throws. Maybe a few bigs haven't got a decent shooting stroke but other than that there is just no excuse for missing a lot of free throws.
