I'm a Braves fan and have watched Freddie since they drafted him at 18, and despite my fandom leading to hatred for LA and NY, I am very happy he's having a big moment, particularly after this past few months.
Most likable player in baseball and a Hall of Famer.

Probably has the best teeth and smile too. Get me the name of whomever does his dental cosmetics.

MVP in Covid year and four other top-5 finishes. He's close.

.300 career batting average
343 HR's
2267 Hits
1230 RBI's
1300 Runs

2-3 more productive years and a few more cling-on years and he'll have great numbers for HoF.

Looking at his career numbers, the easiest number for him to reach with highest correlation to HoF would be 1500 runs scored.

This might be the single most blatant case of fan interference (save running onto the field) in the history of sports.

I love how when the ref comes over he's gesturing that Betts crossed the plain of the wall. As if that somehow was justification for the fan mugging him.

For what it's worth, I can actually see two guys sitting back and saying hey if a Dodger is going to catch a foul ball in our area, let's try to knock it out of his hands. Somehow that escalated into "let's harvest Mookie Betts organs!"

I didn't get a Dodgers sweep, but having them come from 5 runs down to win the World Series in the Yankees home field is absolutely delish (speaking as a Mets fan). And for dessert, I want UConn to stomp Georgia State to get to bowl eligibility. UConn!!!
I love how Mets fans have so little to cheer for with their team that year after year, they celebrate anyone who beats their rivals. Bobby Bonilla Day is fast approaching, friendo.

I'm too lazy to look for it, but the soundclips when he was mic'd up in Spring Training with Chipper is pure gold. The commentary with Chipper making fun of him and then Freeman telling the booth "watch this boys! There's wind!" and cheering himself on to score is just fantastic. I'm a Yankee fan but Freeman is an incredibly good guy and he deserves all the accolades for raking in the WS. I would think this performance pushes one step closer to the HOF. He can still play so you figure at least two more good years and some tack on and he's going to be around 300, 400hrs and, 2600 hits, an MVP, WS MVP, 8-9 All Stars. Similar (probably better) resume than Helton. And he'll get the "good guy" votes, too.

They could have easily injured his hand/arm by holding it over the fence while prying the ball out. Ridiculous morons.
If the ball is over the plane of the wall, it's fair game. Touching the player is always off limits.

Oh dude come off it, as if any fan of any team isn't gleeful when they see their (cross town) rival lose. It would make my skin crawl whenever Craig Carton would say "Mets fans for Yankees", yah nah, I'm good. Think Yankee fans are genuinely happy if Boston wins (they would be indifferent about the Mets). I will always root against the Yankees and Braves, cuz I'm a fan who cheers for his team and relishes when the other guy loses, kinda the definition of a fan. As for Bobby Bonilla day, no skin off my back, I ain't paying him, meanwhile the Mets gave me a NLCS run this year, so I actually had something to be happy about for a change. ^_^

It's an ump not a ref.
