Mike is definitely not in his prime, but this is good breakdown of the game and good contrast on how Duke played to beat St. John's and how they played differently against us and lost.

One thing out of their control was that Foster gave them a huge lift and then as was predicted had nothing left for our game.
 
Foster was a non-factor in this game. Not surprising given his injury. We also held Evans to a lot fewer points than he got against SJU.

IMO foster was always going to be a much bigger difference maker against St John's havoc pressing defense than our much more methodical approach, IMO.


He's a step up from the others on the Duke team, but not exactly light-you up levels of dynamic....so IMO still well within the realm that the Uconn defense was able to cope with.

Duke only has two reliable scorers in Cam and Evans. If one of those guys isnt scoring they can be beat and thats what happened. Uconn couldnt shoot most of the night but once they got a few 3s to fall it really wasnt a close game. Uconn outscored duke 40-20 from the time the game was 50-33. If we werent so cold from 3 in the first half this game is probably not a close game in our favor. Id love to see this team play two complete halves of good basketball which is something they havent really done this season.

Closest they have come was against St John’s and they actually just shot the ball ok, 47.5% overall but were only 28% (7/25)

I sad in the first half. If we hit 4/18(under 20%) we go to the half down 6 if not more. I’m not sure what Duke s order off of the missed 3s.
