“This is the year of the blue bloods,” ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla said. “When I think of Connecticut, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio State, Duke all kind of in their rightful place at the top of the polls to start the season, it certainly means the blue bloods are back"

Dunno what defines a "blueblood." Does it even matter? UCLA is blueblood-y, and I wouldn't want to switch places with them. Maybe we're the nouveau riche to their blueblood....

Ohio State isn't a "blue blood" (neither is UConn, whatever the hell that is), but it's still a very good program, particularly under Thad Matta. I'd definitely put Syracuse ahead of them, though.

Not that it matters, but Ohio State is not a blueblood or a powerhouse or whatever you wanna call them. They're a good program, but not elite. And as far as the so called "bluebloods" go, only Duke and Carolina can match our success the past 20 yrs.
