haha watch this video with fox61 and how uncomfortable drummond is. You can tell he doesnt wanna answer any questions and the guy keeps on going. Theres another video with interviews with Lamb and Alex. They both kinda walk away from the reporter. Thats also a pretty funny interview. The news needs to leave theese dudes alone and let em deceide what they wanna do on there own

i stopped watching after the reporter said "what do you think, man?"

the reporter should be reprimanded. hes obviously not supposed to be on campus asking players that stuff. If he was im sure they would have had a more formal set up. It seems like he surprised the players especial JL and AO. They were real pissed off and definetly not wanting to talk to them. Seems like a very unprofessional interview.

That reporter is a disservice to UConn athletics.

The reporter's doing his job.

I'm confused though. Unless I'm mishearing it, does Drummond say he wouldn't be surprised if Calhoun didn't come back? And then he follows it up with "I'm sure he'll be here"?

The reporter didn't do anything wrong (Besides the excessive use of "man"). But he is just following orders from his bosses, and is well within his right to be here trying to get an interview. Those types of rush, "catch them in passing" interviews happen all the time. Definitely unprofessional but that's how the media is. Drummond could have gotten away quick with a convenient, "I'm late for class" excuse, but he did fine considering the circumstances.

Pretty sure he intended to say "I would be surprised if Calhoun didn't come back" and just kinda tripped on his words.

This is exactly the case.

This dumb@ss reporter was trying to get anything he could out of these guys. Drummond slipped up. Now this so-called "reporter" is posting this on twitter too trying to gain some sort of cred.

Sad, really. This is why the media will be the downfall of America.

Good answers by Drummond, he might as well get used to this the next few weeks. Reporters will always be reporters, politicians-politicians, lawyers-lawyers, balloon knots-balloon knots, etc.....

The reporter is actually NOT in the right here. The accepted practice for media to interview all collegiate athletes is to clear the interview through the team's SID (sports information director). It is not good practice to blindside them. Not technically illegal, but he is not on good ethical grounds with these interviews if they were not cleared through the SID.

I thought...oh well, it is just some young hack reporter that will put this on his blog and it will be some minor story in the paper or online. But then I go to the Courant webstie and it is the lead headline and focus of their front page (not of their front sports page...the front page of their entire site).

This is what journalism has become?! {Sigh}

I have no problem with the reporter. Like others have stated, he was doing his job. What I do have a problem with is his statement along the lines of, the end of the UConn men's program. Now if we lose coach Calhoun, which I doubt, that is the end of a great era under coach Calhoun's leadership. And despite the many critics out there, I have no problem with coach Calhoun. I would go into battle with him any day of the week. Now if we lose Drummond and Lamb, along with Oriakhi; we lose three really awesome players and take a hit on the APR, but it will not be the end of the UConn men's program. They will still go on. We just start with the players that are left and build up from there. It might not be sexy to look at but we still have a team. And coach will be back. He will not abandon the ship.

These clips were similar to the "news" that the trash organizations in Hollywood try to dig up on celebrities. They have a premise in mind and throw it out to the subject for a reaction It's digging for news where it hasn't been made yet!. This is not news reporting, it's sensationalizing rumor!! Yet these are 18-19 year old kids in college, not established stars. Very unprofessional of Fox61 and the reporter to do this! And did you notice who the reporter was? He was NOT one of their sports reporters! I would guess the news editor suggested/endorsed the idea, because it's not something that Rich C would likely ever have endorsed.

Its actually pretty pathetic, think about how long this creep skulked around waiting for them to walk out of the building and blind side them. Wouldnt be surprised if he got ahold of ADs class schedule and stalked him around campus.
